Driving to Jason's house today was an interesting chore; I'm sure you all can imagine driving from mid-Boston to a Boston suburb at 5pm. It's actually a good thing I couldn't make it into the HOV lane because one guy made a lot of enemies today - his car broke down in that lane. And unlike most HOV lanes I know in the midwest, this one has one entrance and one exit, several miles out of the city. There were literally hundreds of cars stopped in the lane in the middle of the highway while we single-person vehicles drove on. Oh well.

Then, after arriving here, having some dinner, and starting on some studying, a storm came through and we lost electricity for a good hour and a half. Jason and I had to spend time together without a TV or a computer!!! Amazingly, we did it. It involved a couch, a blanket, much snuggling and kissing and cuddling, and absolutely no sexual stuff. I'm very happy with that hour and a half.

After the electricity came back on, I finished another chapter in psychology, and came down here to do my online portion of the chapter. I realized about half an hour ago that I hadn't done any of the laundry I had planned on doing... and I'm leaving here tomorrow morning at about 9. Oops. So I put in the one important load (my bedsheets) and will stay up late enough to see it into the dryer.

Heck, I'll probably stay up later than that anyway. After sleeping until 3pm today...

Jason's mom bought these wonderfully tasty baked pita chips that I attacked with a jar of hummus. Yummmmmmm.

So now, I waste time until the wash load is done.

So I had my mid-summer fitness assessment today. To save time, we didn't weigh me (I keep track of that on my own) or do another cardiovascular test (I don't need encouragement in that direction). However, many measurements were done, and a strength and a flexibility test, and comparisons were made to my results on June 7th.

Pushups (the strength test) went from 17 to 22. I'm now almost at the average range.

The stretch test showed much improvement, too, stretching over 4 inches further than I did before. I don't feel like explaining the test, but that was good.

As for measurements (all of these are losses, of course!):
abdomen - no change
waist - 1.25"
hip - .75"
thigh - 1.75" (!)
tricep - .5"
calf - no change
chest - no change

The measurements could be slightly skewed by the exactly placement of the measuring tape, of course, but overall they're nice numbers.

Now, I go eat. *grin*

Online courses are fun! I just completed Exam #1 in Intro Psychology in 10 minutes. 90 minutes is given. ;) And I made a 94%! It's nice to be able to immediately see your score.

I do, however, have to argue with the phrasing of some of the questions. And only 1 of the 3 I missed is one I'd argue on, others I got right but I still don't agree that they were written properly... oh well.

The nap monster kidnapped me today. Held me hostage for almost 3 hours. Damn you, nap monster! I need to sleep tonight, I have to be up early for work!
