Good morning, world!!

I am posting this message from my brand-new, super-cool computer. Hurrah!! It's taken 4 hours to get to this point, but dammit, it's working.

The only problem at all is the lack of sound card. Randen lent me a sound card, but it's pretty old and there are no XP drivers for it. My computer makes a stupid beeping noise every now and then, when warning messages come up. Even when I put on 'no sounds'. Blah.

I am very happy. And sleepy. But I have programs to install!! :)

Oh, and Janke - I checked my phone messages, and the computer shop called on Thursday and left me a message saying my laptop was ready. I guess they forgot that I gave them your name and number instead. *sigh* So I'll hopefully pick it up tomorrow, and be done with it fairly quickly.

It took me a while to figure out what was weird with me using the computer, and then I realized - I'm using the scroll button on my mouse!! For some reason, it never worked with the laptop.

Current problems with the computer:

1) floppy drive not working
2) lcd power light not working (it's actually backwards - the light comes on when the power is OFF. boggle)
3) no driver for Randen's old sound card
4) no windows xp

It is very late. I have a full day tomorrow, too. Work, thai food, root canal, laptop pickup, more work. Computer playing. Wheebop.
