I need a livejournal for reminders. Something that doesn't scroll down when I post more inane things.

Right now this is what I need to think of: I've been saying for a while that "I'll pay for this/buy this before I go to Boston". Well, it's coming up on time to go to Boston, so I need to hurry up and figure out what all I'm supposed to be paying for and make sure I have the money for it.

Short list, by no means finished:

• bass guitar $175


• dental work $141 at least (that's how much I still owe my dad)


• secret trip this weekend ;)


• new tire for my car, possibly a whole new set depending on how it goes down tomorrow


• tickets to Blast $45


• tickets to Lord of the Dance $48


• gas for the trip


• car tuneup the week before I go


• loads of cat food/litter


• food for dinner parties

There's other things I want, but am going to have to not have them. I might even have to give up one of those shows, although we'll see if my mom will pay for Blast. ;)

If you have definitely heard me say "I need to get this before I drive away" you should comment here and remind me of what it is that I'm forgetting.

If you drove very far at all on the blow out, you'll probably also have to get a new wheel to put the tire on, especially if you intend to do any long distance driving.

Wal-Mart might be a good choice for tires. They'll be cheaper than some places and the you'll for sure be able to find Wal-Marts pretty much anywhere you might need to get warrantied service. (if the tires are deffective, or whatever.

Hard to say. Sometimes with a blowout, the impact of the car hitting the ground can do it. Other times it doesn't. The tire guy who puts your new tire on will probably be able to tell you if you need a new wheel. The first thing to check is if the wheel is visibly out of round, in which case you probably do.

I can show you my truck. I've got a wheel that needs to be replaced since I had a blow out on the way to Tulsa, but my truck has mags that are kind of spendy so I'm putting off replacing it. It's probably OK for driving in state, because if something goes wrong I can call my family or AAA and have my car towed home, but I should probablyf fix it before I drive to Mississippi, or anything. It's only going to be a super big deal if the wheel is enough out of round that you can't get a good seal with the new tire. Then you've got an unfixable leak. As it is, though, I'm probably putting a lot more stress on that tire than I would be fi it was on a round wheel.

Do you want the gigantic bag of kitty litter that I bought for the animal shelter last November/December and have been riding around in the car since then putting off taking it there? I'd be happy to give it to you. I don't know if it's the kind you use or whatever, but still. It's about 30 pounds.

Yeah, probably I want it! I use Tidy Cats scoopable litter for multiple cats (it comes in "long-lasting" or "immediate" odor control, and both are just fine by me). The only thing bad about it that I see is that the last time I tried to switch litter on my cats, they started using the bathroom all over the house as a protest. So it's probably important that it's a similar kind, I don't want to subject goldbug to that type of thing. Basically, is it grainy and scoopable, or kind of rocky?
