I'm finding it impossible to get enough sleep to feel rested. Perhaps I'll be taking a big nap this afternoon. There is a nice, soft bed in a warm apartment waiting for me. With two cats. Yum.
So, about the DSL. I called up to talk to Southwestern Bell about my phone service, and they tried to sell me DSL. Their pitch is free installation, free modem, $30/mo for 6 months and $45/mo after that, with a one-year agreement. I told the guy the offer was nice, but I was almost definitely moving away within a year and wouldn't want to pay a big ($200) contract-breaking fee. Then, he told me happy news! If I move somewhere that Southwestern Bell DSL isn't available (either because SWB doesn't exist, or they don't offer DSL at that area) I don't have to pay the breaking fee. I confirmed this several times with the gentleman on the phone, and again with the guy he transferred me to to set up the DSL service. So that removes my only barrier to getting it! I get the free installation, free modem, etc. for $30/mo until I move. Happy.
The weather is getting way too cold. We need to go back to 70ยบ days. Seriously.
