Warning: this post will be very pitiful, and will cause feelings of pity and sympathy to flow from you with great wordiness. You need not hold back.

Two phrases that shouldn't go together are "Happy Birthday" and "you need a root canal". =P

Went to the dentist this morning, got some x-rays taken of the sore tooth I've been complaining about. Some of the filling broke off, which was the crunch I recently felt, but also (and more importantly) when that filling was put in it was so deep (stupid cavities, why don't you go away when I brush twice daily) that it infected and killed the nerve. And that's what's been giving me toothaches for the past month or so. So I need a root canal.

I got a prescription for penicillin (kill the infection before we go in and operate) and Tylenol 3! Hooray for heavy painkillers. I'm waiting for it to kick in right now.

I went to Walmart to get my prescription filled, and wasted the time waiting doing what I do best - shopping. Hell, it's my birthday. I'm supposed to splurge. And most of you know what happens when I see the $3 clearance bra rack. I ended up trying on 16 different articles of clothing. I bought 8, I think. Many of them were cheap.

So now I'm at work, and my birthday is going pitifully (except for the shopping).

Oh, yeah. The root canal will cost (with all the different kind of work needed) $1,092. Just yanking the tooth out would only cost $67, but that doesn't count the cost of getting a bridge or an implant or something else fake that will go in my mouth to hide the fact that I have a missing tooth (and keep my mouth from messing up with it gone). *sigh*

I get tons of cavities, though I take very good care of my teeth and brush well and floss and stuff. It just doesn't help. I got stuck with bad teeth from birth. stupid genes. so yeah, I feel your pain. not literally; though once I went to the dentist (after moving, I had not been in a long time) and had to get 15 fillings. it sucked my asshole.

yeah i don't get it. i spent a good 12 years of my life brusing my teeth on sundays *if* my parents caught me and made me do it. i've been to the dentist a total of 5 times in my whole life. by all rights, i should have a lousy, rotten mouth full of holes. but i don't. i have no cavities. it has to be genetic. i certainly don't deserve it.

Oh jeez. 15 sucks. The most I've gotten at once is 3, but they were 3 big ones... but damn... 15. *sympathy*
