juldea: (sleepy)

Why I can't I sleep normal times??
Let's see. Last night I stayed up until 9am, and then slept until 2pm. I lasted until about 10pm, at which point I figured I was tired enough to sleep through the night. Was I? No. I'm awake now. After a weird dream about watching [livejournal.com profile] guvnor boogie to a song about Tarzan. In a library. The Tarzan song had started playing to break up a fight happening between a few people in the crowd we were standing in. This fight started after we, the whole crowd, had eaten sunflower seeds in honor of Ghandi.

Try to analyze THAT.

I did manage to get to the gym today, and also returned some videos that were a couple days late to the library. I finally had money to try the little deli at the gym, and I ate a veggie muncher - a wrap spread with creamy spinach dressing and filled - FILLED - with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, sprouts, carrots... and cucumber, which I opted out from because I don't like it. Ohhh it was good. I'm craving another. Maybe I'll get the fixin's from the grocery store today and make them at home.

Well, I have one lesson, one exam, and one discussion question to go before I'm done with my psychology class. *flex* The only chance I won't get an A is if my professor decides that all of my answers to the discussion questions were crap and I don't get any of the 75 points available for that part of the course. Somehow I doubt that'll happen ;) So, woo for following a F-F-F-I semester with an A... and hopefully a semester with a mix of A, B, and C.

It's very odd being awake at 4:30am because I woke up, and not because I haven't slept in the first place.

Oh! While I was awake last night (morning), I watched The Wizard of Oz for what was definitely the first time. I was never sure before because certain songs and images were familiar, but after watching it, I know that those were just popular songs and images that I was exposed to out of the context of the movie. "We're off to see the wizard", "And you were there, and you and you.." etc. I had definitely not seen this movie before.

It freaked me out. It was so weird. The munchkins were disturbing in their clothes, hair, facial expressions, makeup, and voice. Glinda seemed high - no one can smile that much and be so serene. She didn't even frown when the Wicked Witch was making threats! The scarecrow moved in ways that a human being shouldn't move. The tin man played his part well, I suppose, because he certainly didn't seem to have a heart or show any emotion. The lion... the lion was the freakiest. Gender identity problems, a very weird shaky voice... he just weirded me out. *shudder*

My favorite part of the movie was watching Toto. He was such a cute little doggie.

Hmm, I just yawned. Maybe I can go back to bed and sleep until sunlight, at least? I'd feel good about that.
