Goldbug is a wonderful friend!!!

Meaning: she took something from my wishlist and got it for me for my birthday (early)!! :)

A Lexmark P122 photo jetprinter! To print pictures with!

Now it's time to go to epinions.com and other such sites to find out if it's worth the price. ;)

huh? she got you a printer and you're going to see if it's worth it?

isn't that just a little too much looking a gift horse in the mouth?

Erk, I guess I should explain the situation a bit more. ;)

We were at walmart, and goldbug was looking at cameras (cheap ones), and I noticed that there were photo printers nearby. Being something that has been on my wishlist for a while, I was checking them out, and there was one on clearance for $60! So I called goldbug over and we inspected it and I suggested that, since we both had digital cameras, we could split the price for it. And that wouldn't be too much. Just that we didn't really know what kind of quality we'd get.

At that point, she admitted that she had been planning on collecting money and getting me a photo printer for my birthday!! Which made me very happy and astonished. So she said she would spring for the whole price of this one, there was still the 'but is it good' question.

So I said that we could take it home, and look up reviews for it online before we open it, and if it sucks, just return it. There's no rule about returning clearance stuff. So she agreed to that :)

The only thing people say bad about it is that it doesn't have drivers for Windows 2000 and XP, but you know what, the box SAYS THAT. It says "for Windows 98 and ME only" or something like that. And I have ME. Otherwise, all the reviews are good. Woo!!

Hehe, it's coming with me to Boston for the summer ;) But if you really need your digital pictures printed out, you can email them to me and I will print them and snailmail them back to you. :)

Yes! I wouldn't be able to live without it. Heehee. It's one of the few larger-type things that will go with me. I won't take my TV or VCR or anything like that.
