So much has happened in the last two days... I guess I will try to briefly rant and get it all in!

I stayed up very late on Wednesday night, getting all my packing done. I think I went to bed around 4 or 5, and I slept in goldbug's bed for a few hours until she kicked me out - then I slept on my bed, which Penny had cleaned off for me so that I wouldn't have to sleep on the couch (and he could stay up and do loud things in the living room). I woke up at 8 to work at Saxon, which I was able to accomplish. Then I left to go home and get Karen. She and I got thai food and drove to my mom's, and mom drove my car to Tulsa while we ate in the back seat. I was sleepy from only having a few hours of sleep, so I lay my head on my pillow (which was on karen's lap) and slept. That was nice, but still only another nap.

My mom and I continued to my grandparents' house, and we just sat and talked and drank soda for a few hours. I was happy to see them, and they were very happy to see me. My grandma gave me lots of scolding about making sure to get new tires before I leave, and to call often.

Then we left for Blast! We made it to Tulsa in time, and found the performing arts center on our own even! We had pretty good seats - a little further back and off to the right than would be ideal, but I was able to see everything. I had to lean over a bit to see around the head of the guy two rows in front of me (he was really tall), but that's fine.

Blast was wonderous. I was captivated. It is everything I wish I could be and do. Maybe I will decide to put my mind to it and dammit, actually practice my horn regularly. It looked sooo much fun...

One of the most bizzare parts of the show... well, you know those zero-G simulators that you see at state fairs and stuff, where you are strapped into co-centric rings and spun around in all different directions? Imagine doing that with a marching snare attached to you, while drumming. That's what happened at one point during this show, although the spinning was purely ... hmm... around the x-axis. The whole thing was put on wheels, too, so these guys wheeled out the drummer while upright, and then when he started playing they gave him a turn and he started flipping around and around, and they could push the whole apparatus around the stage while he spun. It was soooooo cool.

Another great thing was that the entire crew was out in the lobby after the show. I got to chat with the french horn soloist girl. We talked about how much time the show takes away from your life, the fact that they get paid, etc... :)

Anyway, then my mom and I went home. I tried to nap on the way back, but it didn't work well. I don't know why. On the way from my mom's back to Norman, I called Papa John's to see if they really needed me to come in from midnight to close, since I was tired. Phillip apparently didn't even know that I was supposed to come in, and begged me to. It was horrendously busy. So I told him I was on my way back from Tulsa, and I'd be there when I could. I got home and took another nap from midnightish until 1:30, then went to work. It turns out that the drivers had to stay behind and help actually close up the store, too, so I was there until after 5:30am. I went to bed at 6, and the alarm went off at 8... I actually did wake up. But I guess my body decided that going for so many days without any actual long sleep cycles was not what it was going to do, because I just went quite unconscious.

I woke up later, went to the lab. Left there at about 1:35 after filling out my time sheet. Stopped by Pad Thai for my last lunch special in a while (I got my favorite flat noodle pad thai), went to the bank to make a deposit, and then... hmm. I have to sign my lease before summer, and so that means before tomorrow, and the parkview office closes at 4:30... so I head back to the office, meet goldbug there. We find out we can't sign the lease until we pay May's rent, so we sign the leases (the guy trusted us) and THEN go to the bursar's office. Goldbug pays both of our bills, and I write her a check to cash on the 16th when I get paid. I take her back home, and come to work.

There was food for me!! People brought chips and veggies and dip and cookies and all sorts of yummy stuff. I'm glad they like me! Also, I got to have an "exit interview", and found out I get 20 hours of severance pay! $200+ I didn't know I would have! So I'm very happy.

Now, it's about time to go home. Leave Saxon for the last time as an employee... wow. I have a lot of crap to take with me. Which is bad because I don't have my badge anymore, so I can't come into and out of the door, and I have to take it all in one big clump.

I invited my mud/Saxon friends Jack and Kelly (married couple) to the dinner party. They will be there late. But I wanted to see Kelly before I left. I gave them a map.

I am excited!
