In reference to the subject heading, I'll mention the weird event first, so it doesn't get lost in the great news.

I was leaving Pad Thai today, and Num followed me out the door and said, "Julia? Do you do anything on Sunday?" I said, "Well, I work Sunday night..." and he said, "No, Sunday during the day." I told him no, and he said, "Good," and then grinned and went back into the store. Hmm.

Now for the good news!!! Great news!!

As you all can tell, I started to get crackin' today about accomodations in Boston. Part of what I did was contact my internet Three Kingdoms friends who lived in Boston. One of them told me the name of another mudder who lived there that I knew (I didn't know she lived there though!). I sent a mass mudmail to them saying "I'm looking to move there, watch for open apartments for me, or if you have space let me know..." and a little while later this girl sends me a message asking if I wanted a temporary summer job while I lived in Boston.

To make a long story short, Adriana has cerebral palsey and has no use of her arms and legs. She has a roommate and a friend who comes over to help her out while her roommate is at work, but her friend is going to Spain for the summer. She will at least need someone to be with her for a few hours during the day and assist her with eating, using the bathroom, etc. Maybe even going to work with her. Her job (?) would pay me to be her assistant, and she would pay me some as well. We have agreed to work out a deal where instead of paying me, I get to live there and maybe not have to pay TOO much rent (full rent of her apartment is $2,000/mo, wow! I'm too used to Oklahoma $400/mo).

However - and this is the really cool part - if she somehow loses her roommate before summer, and I can commit to being a full-time assistant, she'll let me stay there for the whole summer for FREE - no rent or bills. Just pay for my own food and such. Isn't that a great deal? I need to find some way to run her roommate off. *grin*

She gave me her address, and I mapped it on Mapquest with driving directions to Jason's school, and they're a full 4 miles apart. How perfect is that?

She also said that she doesn't have her roommate, Jason is invited to stay over as much as she wants. And I am allowed to bring cats, but they cost $35/mo each - I might still just leave them in Norman for simplicity's sake.

Oh, and she has DSL.

How great can it get? And just earlier today Jason and I were worried about making this work out. Yay!!
