I had plans for a nice long journal entry to compensate from not posting for a few days (poor everyone without my wonderous writings), but work decided that it would be bitchy instead ;) So I'll just get what I can get done here, and deal with not writing the rest.

Most of you know about the Laundro-Spore show that happened on Saturday, so if you do, you can skip this whole rant about it (unless you really want to read it!) For those of you not graced to live in Norman, here you go - a very cool interesting Gaea Spore story :)

We had a gig at Norman High School at the debate tournament for Saturday from 5-6. Yeah, it's a weird gig, but the band did it last year, and our friend Lily who helps arrange things for the tournament was asked to invite us back. So we said sure, we'd entertain a bunch of high schoolers waiting for their results. On Saturday, the guys started packing up instruments and such at about noon, I dropped by at 2 for help (and brought donuts), and at about 3 we were all packed and ready to go. Then we got a phone call - we're cancelled. It turns out that somehow the main coordinator of the tournament forgot that she gave permission for a band to come, or something - Lily got kicked out because she said, "No, you gave us permission weeks ago to invite these people," etc etc. So here we are, 2 hours before our show, all packed up, ready, and WANTING to play, with no venue. Hmm.

So, of course, we make one! Chris suddenly burst out with, "Let's play at the Parkview laundromat!" For those of you who don't recognize it, that's the laudromat of my apartment complex. Why he had that as an idea I don't know, but it's a place with some open space and power outlets, so... hell... why not. We called everyone we could, even made some last-minute flyers, got my laundry, and set up at the laundromat. While my clothes were getting clean, the laundromat was stuffed with Gaea fans (and random people doing their laundry!), and we played a really great show. :) It was so cool...

So, yeah. I've done 2 shows now (although one was in the living room of the happiness hotel), and the new year's party. *flex*

Chase!!! How much can I pay you to get a video copy of the show? I know you taped it! I want to show some people :) (you know who you are...)

I find it amusing what my food budget is now. I spend $27.55/wk on thai food for weekdays, and then - 4 nights a week (and both weekend nights) I work at Papa John's and get free pizza, 2 other nights a week I go to Brendan's for band practice and usually snack on something there, or even get a meal... I really don't have to spend much money at all on food. :)

Ugh, speaking of food, I'm starving... I think it's time to eat some applesauce.

Oh, yeah - I put my alarm on radio this morning instead of "gradual buzz from loud to annoyingly loud" and woke up really well. Hmmm.

We got the idea because we'd always talked about playing a show at that laundromat... We used to habg out there all the time in highschool. It's right next to the Duck Pond, it's warm in the winter, and there's a phone. That's where we wrote most of the words to Sailing the Merry Skies.

And I think it was me, not Chris, that actually said it, but I could be wrong.

That is an uber-cool story! Is there any way you could put the video or pictures on the net?

I always used to wake up to the radio, when I had a radio alarm clock and I like it heaps, I think because BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP is designed to annoy you, whereas radio stations aren't (well, depending on which ones you listen to) and we used to have some really funny djs on the morning shift.

I really hate morning DJs, though. I want to hear music, not talk... it's very hard to find... all the DJs think they're really funny, but they're not. =P I get annoyed just hearing them.

We'll see about the video getting put online. :)

Why do I always miss the good shows? I got that message around ten that night. I wish I could have made it. You ought to make a habit of just playing random spots around town. Laundry rooms would be good because think about how bored you get just sitting waiting for laundry.

I'm glad to know that you did get the message, I was worried that I had called the wrong number. The answering machine sounded like you, but it was loud in the laundromat and I was on my cell phone so I wasn't sure. And of course you don't put your name or number on the machine. ;)

Hopefully we'll have more notice before doing another one. I think we should play a show at the laundromat here every time I need to do laundry (about ever 2-3 weeks).

I could probably get you a copy of the tape for oh....I don't know....your firstborn?
seriously, I'll make a copy for Gaea Spore, but we're running low on tapes, so if you want alot of copies then I will require multitudes of blank cassettes!!! Muahaha!!!!

P.S. I got the first 6 or 7 songs and then "Gee, I wish I had a Gurl" before my tape ran out.
