california ideas
8 December 2001 12:04First major announcement:
CHRISTMAS FEAST: FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14TH, "EVENING", HAPPINESS HOTEL LOVE SHACK. ALL INVITED.
Now, with that out of the way...
I'm going to be driving to California on Saturday the 15th, and returning to be home hopefully on the 23rd (leaving CA the 22nd). Currently I'm driving alone, paying for everything myself, going straight to Sacramento, spending the night in a motel in Flagstaff, etc. However, I would really really really like a friend along.
If you want to go to anywhere in California for that week, we can arrange something. If someone is willing to split the gas and the driving, I am willing to take time out to take them to somewhere else besides Sacramento on the way; Berkeley, LA, whatever. I'll be coming over via I-40, so I'll be in general mid-southern CA anyway...
If no one takes me up on this offer, I might ask to borrow some money from someone. I haven't figured out how much yet. Over $100.
Now, for amusement: I was thinking of all of this this morning in bed while I was half awake, half asleep, and it created quite an interesting series of events. I figured that there might be California-goers at Karen's house, so I reached out and picked up the phone, and called Karen's house. Someone answered, and I said hello, but there was no reply, and I realiezd I did that thing where you dream about calling someone but there isn't actually a phone under your ear. So I reached out and grabbed the phone, the blue phone, from the nightstand, and called karen. She picked up and said hello, and then the line died. I realized that I used a phone that wasn't actually connected to a phone cable. So I grabbed a white phone from my dresser, called karen, she picked up, and I said "we just got cut off because I used a phone without a cord". Then I realized that this phone didn't have a cord either and we lost connection. Then, the phone rang, and I opened my eyes and answered it, and it was real and it was goldbug. All of the rest of it had been dream.
I think it's pretty cool that I had that dream right before goldbug called.
So anyway. California, anyone?
