Just got off the phone with the insurance company... and since, after I file for the TCC (temporary continuation of coverage), I will still be under the same plan, the deductible I pay this year will transfer over to be under my name! So I don't have to pay it twice!

So here's the plan: Goldbug, wanna lend me $250? ;)

I go for a Depo shot next week, and I don't think the mail-order thing will be processed by then, so I will have to pay full-price for it as it will be part of my deductible. However, it will reduce $50 from my deductible, making it now $200. That plus the $30 gets me 3 months of zoloft, and well... I'll just have an extra $20 to owe, heh.

I'm happy. I'm glad I have this all figured out.

Now I need to email my dad, and have him start getting the TCC paperwork - the lady said it was smart to start it now.

Whee!

In other good news, the new aerobics schedule at Huston Huffman is up. There are quite a few classes I'm interested in, but not all I can make. Not sure if going to a step aerobics class requires me to have a step, but whatever. There's a T/R yoga class at 6:40pm... I'll have to figure out how long it runs, because I'm interested in going but not if it makes me more than 30 minutes late for band practice. Currently since I have mondays and thursdays free in the afternoon, there are a couple cool things I can do... we'll see once I get another work schedule.

Goldbug thinks I should deliver pizza. Thoughts/comments? They do get paid well, and I could probably ask for specific times...

To sum it up: You'll spend any extra you make on your car. I put, on average, about twenty to thirty thousand miles a year on my car when I was doing delivery. If you do go ahead though work for a small mom and pop operation. Chances are good they'll be more understanding about any car trouble and you won't put as much wear on your car. The bonus is you'll get great arm endurance from carrying the pizza around.

Well, I put 20k miles on my car the first year I had it anyway. It doesn't have many problems, either. I am worried about that aspect of it, though. I want this car to last me a long time.

i know i heard a LOT of bitching about car complaints from the delivery drivers when i worked at imo's back home, too.

yeah...but i was talking to mary tonight (she used to be a manager at papa john's) and it occurred that maybe i should be a delivery driver. my car's not nearly as nice as yours, but it's reliable and it has a gazillion miles on it anyway. i could do that a couple nights a week...probably i won't, but i'm thinking about it. i'll see how much work i have to do this semester; see how busy i am.

Hmmmm.
Maybe... I could be a delivery driver, but drive your car?
And you could have full use of mine those nights.

i don't think that would really be a good idea...if my car is going to get lots of miles on it, i'd want to be the one doing it (working and getting paid).

How much of that was highway? That makes a huge difference. Highway miles aren't any where near as bad as stop and go driving in the city. The other thing I thought of is that I was driving at least forty hours a week. If you're going to be doing it part time it's not going to be AS bad. If you do it though, keep a log of the people you meet. I can insure that you will meet some real off the wall people. It's great.

yeah. maybe you will meet naked people. or people who order pizza just for their dog. or people who refuse to actually talk to you but leave a $20 bill outside with a note that says "leave the pizza, ring the doorbell, and go"

If their pizza costs $9.99, I'm all about the $20.

I've met all those and more. You forgot the guys sitting around a hookah that's so big it has it's own table and five or six hoses the size of garden hoses, the drunks that tip huge because they can't count drunk, (in my case) the guys who yell at you over the phone then when you show up get really respectful (didn't think I'd be 5'11" and 300lbs did you big guy? *evil grin*). There is also the benefit of learning the area you drive so well it's like you're living room to you (I still can't get lost in Edmond). Not to mention it builds character...

Yeah, I guess a lot of it was highway, this was before my California trip though.

Wow! Yoga on Tuesday AND Thursday!!! It used to be only on Thursday. It usually ran about an hour last semester, so I'm guessing it will do the same this one.

Ooh thanks for the info. :) Although that might make it later than I want it to be. Do you know about the yoga place on campus corner? Like when they have classes, how much, etc?

There is a website for it. http://www.ionet.net/~tslade/andrew.htm That's how I found out about it. I went during this past summer, but had a hard time continuing in the fall because of my schedule. I'm not sure if this schedule is current, as he seems to change it from semester to semester. The guy who teaches most of the classes is Andrew, and his email address is okiebaba@pocketmail.com. I'm sure he could let you know if the schedule on the page applies to this semester. Even though I had some Pilates and yoga experience prior, I started at Level 1. I think it was a good introduction, and you can quickly move up to Level 2.

Heh, we must both be online. :) Thanks for the page, I will check into it. I'm really interested in getting into yoga or tai chi.

Oh... and no. Going to a step class doesn't require that you have a step. They have steps for you to use. They also do weights, powerbands, and abwork at the end of each class. They have all the powerbands, weights and mats for crunches there for you to use, too. They keep all the stuff in a closet on the far side of the aerobics room.

What is a "bags" class?

on 14 Jan 2002 12:52 (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] lamnia.livejournal.com
It's kickboxing with the big stand up bags. It's awful fun to punch and kick them. It gives one a bit more incentive than punching and kicking at the air, methinks ;) You can buy gloves, but I never have and have yet to suffer any because of my decision. The lady who taught it last semester is hardcore and very good at motivation!

are these huffman classes free?

on 14 Jan 2002 11:35 (UTC)

nope. It's $60 for a semester. If you were among the first 125 (I think) to sign up today, it cost $40.

were? are they already gone? I was going to sign up later today.

I'm not sure if the $40 deal is done yet or not. I heard from a friend that there was a line of people to sign up even before eight am. There's no problem signing up and paying the regular $60 (which I have to do b/c I wasn't sure I could spare the $$$ this morning), it's just highly likely that the $40 memberships are gone. I've gotten the discount in the past... and it goes quickly.

Heehee, actually yes. I mean, they said they will stay open later but that just means that I can take as long as I want to eat, since I get there around 2:15. And I do go there every day. I'm sure that if you come in close to 2:30 they won't mind, the only sucky part is sometimes some of the food is almost gone. But you'll Be With Julia. ;)
