My membership in the Broadway Across American e-Club has acquired me this email what reads:
Special Pre-Sale Offer For You!
Buy Tickets Before the General Public
In The Heights
January 12-24
Boston Opera House

I believe, my friends, it is on like Donkey Kong.

I am going to go ahead and make the executive decision that we are NOT going the week before Arisia, because I will die be completely unable to enjoy the show due to stress. That leaves the following dates:
Tue 1/19 7:30pm
Wed 1/20 7:30pm
Thu 1/21 7:30pm
Fri 1/22 8:00pm
Sat 1/23 2:00pm and 8:00pm
Sun 1/24 2:00pm and 7:30pm

Ticket range: $44.05 for the ass-back of the balcony, $56.75 for front balcony/side mezz, $86.10 for mezz center, $102.50 for orchestra/front mezz.

Thoughts?

I am currently free for all of those dates. Weekend nights are best for obvious reasons, but more likely to end up conflicting with something, so really either could work. Call it a slight pref for weekend. For tix, I'd lean toward front-balcony or center mezz. From what Holly's said about the dancing, I actually wonder whether the balcony seats wouldn't be better than mezz for that show.

Also, squeeeeintheheights!!!

I'm totally up with this plan and am not yet booked for any of those dates, though Tuesday I'm likely to still be in Arisia recovery mode. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] usernamenumber that front balcony or mezz is good for location.

Having been the one who's seen the show, I saw it from the ass-end of the balcony at the Broadway theater (don't know how theater size compares, though) and it was pretty awesome from there. The only part I didn't like was not being able to make out people's faces - otherwise, they make the stage into a wonderful tableau, and I actually wouldn't want to sit orchestra for that show, I think. Mezz might work, but balcony should in theory be great also, although the opera house is kind of big.

I think my final vote is for the $55 seats in the further front part of the balcony, and I, as everyone else, am free all of those dates. (I figure it is assumed I'm in for this plan :P) Although I might try to take Saturday afternoon or evening and do something small for my birthday. Maybe the two could be blended? Do group celebrate-my-birthday plus pre-show lunch/early dinner, then go to show? Is a thought.
