I weigh 160.

I've decided that I'll use my long work days to my advantage. I'm not going anorexic or anything, but since I simply don't have any place to fit in a lunch, I won't. I'll have my shake and vitamins in the morning, and then dinner at night. I don't need that many calories since I'm not burning any during the day while sitting on my ass...

I think I'll exercise, too. I have exercise videos... Do you think I can get my sorry ass out of bed on M/W/F mornings to alternate between the 3? Hmm...

maybe you should just sort of snack throughout the day, to keep your metabolism up. fruits and veggies and healthy stuff. not many calories. it just doesn't sound like you will have much solid food. also you don't want your blood sugar to get too low either. i'd never make it through the day if i didn't eat until dinner. of course, other people work differently than the infamous team of me and raoul.

i've been wondering if there are any scales around that i can hop on and see some ridiculously low number (in kilos) and then make the conversion to pounds to see if i have been gaining weight from eating out all the time.

maybe you could exercise at work. if there's enough room on the floor. you could do stomach crunches and stuff. you could even bring hand weights. you could do a few exercises between calls. you could do jumping jacks, or jog in place. you could take the stairs to a bathroom on a different floor.

I'd be afraid to do jumping jacks or jog in place, since I'm on the third floor. I would be thumping the person below me.

I will still have a Dr. Pepper in the middle of the day at work, and if that doesn't keep blood sugar up, I don't know what will... hehe

For a while now I've been going every other day without remembering to bring something for lunch, or with being late to work and not having time to bring something and also (since I was late) not having the free time to go out to eat. My stomach starts rumbling about 3:00 but it's not a total inconvenience, and my stomach and I have been making it through. I just decided today that I'll do that all the time.

I am thinking of going to Goddard or Huffman or somewhere that will test me and tell me my body fat and lean body mass and stuff. I saw a chart online of ideal weights and for height, 20% overweight (clinically obese) is 147 pounds. Therefore, I'm like 30% overweight and clinically obese. I don't think I agree with THAT, but I am overweight. However, this chart said that if you knew your lean body mass, use the height that corresponds to that, and not your exact height. I guess that corrects for frame size, muscle mass, etc. So if I know that stuff, maybe I can get more of an idea of what I should weigh. The chart said a rough estimate was very small frame, sub. 2 inches, small frame -1 in., large frame add 1 in., very large frame +2 in.... However, even if I have a very large frame I was still in the overweight section for being 5'5". BLAH.

And I was looking at this chart AFTER I got upset about my weight, so I'm not doing this all because of some stupid chart. It just was part of what I saw online.

Back to what you were saying. I think I will do some kind of exercise while at work, instead of mudding sometimes. I do get tired of mudding while I'm there because the Mac mud programs can't do as much of the neat stuff that I have set up at home... So instead of bringing a book, I'll bring weights!

um, is this the chart from tamar's page?

i looked at it. if i were you, i'd find a less fat-fearing source for a chart. like a medical site or 2.

and let me tell you, once you start cutting out meals, it's really hard to stop.

Well yes. That's why I'm not taking it as god's holy word (the bible's weight chart). It was just something to look at.

I wouldn't take any advice from Tamar. In fact I try to ignore anything she says.

my new weight loss goal is to weigh 100 lbs less than ty. ty claims to weigh 230, and he says that is accurate to a pound or 2. i weighed 148 before i left norman. actually, maybe my interim goal will be to weigh what my driver's license says (139). the problem will be if ty loses weight too. in that case, i'll have to revise my ultimate goal. however, i don't have a scale. i haven't seen one around the apt, either. so i guess i need to convince someone to buy one. or maybe i could spring for one. i worry that my eating out will make me gain weight.

things sound cheaper in NZ, so I bet you could find a scale for $10-15...
