I was preparing to leave work and head home in the rain when [livejournal.com profile] crazybone, perhaps informed by [livejournal.com profile] hakamadare of my "what's anyone doing later tonight" tweet, called me up to invite me to dinner at Area 52, which was (due to whatever) actually going to occur late enough for me to make it there. So I joined [livejournal.com profile] chaiya, [livejournal.com profile] hakamadare, [livejournal.com profile] crazybone, [livejournal.com profile] noeltheone, [livejournal.com profile] civic_oracle, and two others I know first names of but not LJ names in eating a delicious dinner and talking about all sorts of things, often ending up in the scientists in the room swapping interesting chemical and medical and beyond-my-ken stories. I found it weird to be at a party wherein someone utters the phrase, "Oh, have I told you the phenylthaline story?" and [livejournal.com profile] londo wasn't there.

Then I found out that while I was offline, [livejournal.com profile] usernamenumber snuck into my house (he has keys from back when I moved in and needed someone nearby to let technicians in when they had to come set up phone lines and things), left me food from the Garden Grille, and found the package I thought I had completely lost to FedEx incompetence.

So basically this is a post to say my friends are awesome and I shouldn't forget this.

Are you under the impression I have a phenylthaline story?

No, but you are the kind of person I expect to be around when people are telling fun chemistry stories.
