Here we go. This is what I'm cosplaying next weekend. They've finally put up a decent picture.

Have: boots, fishnets, material for under-leotard, corset, feathers, tulle, nails. Need: studded bracelet and necklace, fake lashes, contacts, and hair design.

Neat! I hate fake eyelashes.. I mean, they look great, I just can't get them to work.

I like that your hair has designs.

My computer is wonking out and I can't see the picture, but from the items on your have/need list I think I have a pretty good sense...

I have never tried using them. I hope I don't critically fail at them for Thursday night!

Yes indeed! Thanks for the reminder.

The problem with scleral (full-eye) lenses is they are *expensive*. This page (http://www.coastalcontacts.com/halloween-lenses/cHalloweenLenses-p1.html) has some teethed ones for almost $250 per lens, and this place (http://www.fashion-contactlenses.com/full-eye-contact-lenses-page-1-of-3-980-0.html) (which ships worldwide) for £279.95 per pair! These (http://02a5349.netsolstores.com/jaws.aspx) are pretty freakin' awesome and $330/pair, though...

It's more that my hair needs to be designed - I don't know how to get all the height and teasedness out of it that that costume demands.

...if you're working on Thursday night, you can see the costume. Due to a complex sequence of events, I'll be changing into it at work in the bathroom and then RUNNING out of the office (okay, I have a cloak I can wrap around me, no need to run too fast) to get picked up by [livejournal.com profile] usernamenumber to head to the theater. So... yeah. ;)

Thanks much for the data! Those are more expensive than I had hoped, so probably not a surprise gift. OTOH, they are way less expensive than new prosthetics, so it's all a matter of perspective... And there are some cool non-scleral ones that are possibly within the "get it as a surprise present" range...

Never underestimate the ability of your friends to help, too. I think several people would be interested in chipping in to get some Corinthian eyes for her, myself included!
