I really, really hate the phrase "cow orker".

Also I hate it when my friends make my life complicated, but that's a post for another time.

That phrase bothers me because it's crappy English. What does a "cow orker" do? Munch grass grown by mythological goblin-like creatures?

I've never seen it spelled that way in my life. What meaning does it have?

I picked up "cow orker" from [livejournal.com profile] tikva. Sometimes I use it, sometimes, I don't.

Sorry if my use of it bugs you.

Only person I know who used it in any sort of regular basis was root/cerise. Which, thankfully, means I don't hear it anymore :)

Color me confused, too.

I hate to say it but I think that's a GREAT phrase. It pleases my ear. Now, what does it mean, my dear?

/hurdy gurdy urdy ORK ORK ORK
//me now has to come up with a great meaning for "ork"

It's implying that one's coworkers are people who ork cows. I have no fucking clue what it means, either, which is part of why it bugs me. But people seem to think they're clever or hip or something for saying it instead of coworker.

I am also grumpy today.

Sometimes people do things, have habits or tics that annoy other people. It's life. There's a reason I posted to my LJ about it rather than comment to your post with it - there's no personal slight intended, just my dislike of the term.

If you're talking about people who ACTUALLY ork cows (for whatever definition of "ork" you come up with), totally less annoying. It's the paintbrush use of it for anyone and everyone's coworkers that I really dislike.

using it in lieu of "coworker" is totally dumb. I agree. Next time you should get all up in people's grill and be like, "if you knew what you were calling people you would NEVER use that phrase again!"

I vote we take it back. "God, that heifer is ORKABLE!"

I am all down with takin' it back. Gotta find something for "ork" to mean that I'd be willing to do to cows, though...

I can't stand sheeple myself. Just annoys me.

My favorite thing about the word "sheeple" is that everyone who uses it learned it from someone else.
