Today has been a ssslllooowww day at work.

A couple things to blog about:

  • Is there anything going on for Labor Day? My brother and sister-in-law in Virginia want me to visit that weekend, and fares are (relatively) cheap, but I can't remember if I've already promised my bodytime to anyone.

  • Yesterday I playtested Rock Band 2. I had a lot of fun and want to play it more, more, more! And it was discovered that I can sing and [livejournal.com profile] londo won't cry or leave the room. Hooray!

  • After that, londo and I and some friends made a trek to the Cambridgeside Galleria's Cheesecake Factory to celebrate their $1.50 cheesecake special. We got there around 9:15 and signed up for the 45-60 minute wait, were seated around 10:15 I believe, drinks took about 10-15 minutes, food surprisingly didn't take too long, and even though we ordered our cheesecakes with the food, they arrived about 11:45. So yeah, it was a long evening. However, the food was tasty (their Factory Chopped Salad is extremely tasty and customizable), the company good, and there is still 2/3 of a Chocolate Tuxedo Cheesecake in my fridge. Also, afterwards londo and I walked all the way home, so our food guilt was assuaged. ;)

  • I have an odd simple pleasure in life. If I am approaching a door I know to be locked and require a key to open, and I have said key in my hand, and I manage to walk up to the door and smoothly insert the key directly into the lock in one motion, I get a very happy feeling. No halting to fit the key in, no stubbing it against the side of the lock, just going straight from "key held at my side" to "key fully inserted into lock".

  • I haven't made a post about [livejournal.com profile] mr_teem and [livejournal.com profile] citabria's wedding? Oh no! It was a wonderful time, absolutely gorgeous, I got stuffed on food, citabria was the happiest bride ever, and I looked smokin' in my dress. I need more occasions to wear it.

  • To counter my simple pleasure, a pet peeve. I hate crossing guards "helping" me cross the street. I'm nearly 30, for Pete's sake, I can cross a street on my own. I do it all the times I'm at those streets when it's not 8:30am! I walk a block out of my way to avoid those intersections.

I think that's it for braindump right now, plus it's time to go home, and I have Plans for dinner. (From-scratch vegetable lasagna, plus a full sink of dishes to do.)

I have a friend who works at Harmonix, which as you know is located not far from my house. If you come to visit, I can probably swing getting you in too. ;)

It is looking like we're rescheduling the baby shower to that weekend, if you were planning on coming.

I like to do that with the keys too! Though for me it's mainly just a matter of having the right key in hand when I reach the door rather than fumbling with a keyring after halting.

I keep separate keyring for home and for work, so neither has too many keys on it. I do make sure long before I walk up to the door that I have the right keyring out and the right key in my hand, though!

I will second the "you looked smokin' in the dress." I mean, I wasn't at the wedding, but still. It was hawt.
