That was a satisfying day.

I'll bite. How do you create, maintain, and even conceptualize attachments differently than other people do?

Sorry for the late response, been catching back up on life in Boston after my week+ sick and my few days out of town.

I think I put more weight and obligation in my fewer number of smaller attachments and pretty much ignore the lesser attachments. And I don't consider attachments that haven't been "active" in a while to be much less important for it (the "friendship is an outdoor cat (http://www.dolland.net/loveline/sound/profound/friendshipoutdoorcat.mp3)" philosophy).

I was recognized by many people at the reunion who I had just very, very little memory of, if I had any at all. And when I contacted those in high school who were close to me, found out they were all going to be someplace on Sunday night, and told them I'd show up there in the evening, many of them left before I got there. Apparently no interest in even just seeing me for a moment to say hi before heading off.

My deduction is that I must feel a stronger attachment to that old friendship than they do, because if one of them were to come to Boston, I'd do everything I could to make myself available to them.
