So while I was wandering Walmart earlier trying to waste some time, I browsed their book section. I must be masochistic, because when I found the omnibus His Dark Materials, I immediately flipped to the penultimate chapter of The Amber Spyglass and read the really sad part. :(
Then I amusedly browsed the bodice-rippers, which have more man-chest on them these days than woman - in fact, there was one where the woman was ripping off the man's shirt! Shocking. It turns out that Harlequin and Silhouette are breaking off into little mini-lines these days. There's the inspirational romance line, for those who want some religion in their smut, and the romance suspense line, and then... there's the we haven't stolen the World of Darkness and put romance novels in it, no, really line. I avoided buying any, even though they were only $3 and I was extremely curious. But I felt that you, dear reader, should know of this.
