It's official - I have jury duty tomorrow. I called the Standby Juror number, and the recorded message told me that all jurors are to report tomorrow.
I have two books (both Jim Butcher, hehe) and knitting. I believe I am set.

I hear that knitting needles and accoutrements might not make it through courthouse security. Do you know for sure?

It is an iffy, but I've heard a lot of comments from my Boston knitters Yahoo group that they were allowed to bring theirs in. So I'll just be crossing my fingers!

I'm sure there are local rules, but in the jury summons my partner just received it states that only metal knitting needles are not allowed.
I look forward to seeing more exciting projects that will come off those needles!

Well, I got in with my size 1 (i.e. small) metal needles no problem, so perhaps it is a area thing.

Will they allow knitting into the courtroom? After all, needles could be used as weapons.

See above.
If they disallowed knitting, they'd have to disallow pens and pencils, too, in my eyes.

Did you ever learn how to knit nooses? I'm sure the defendant won't mind you practicing.
