juldea: (Hold me!)
[personal profile] juldea
Guess I should catalog the entire gathering, eh? Especially since I have nothing better to do at my grandfather's house at 1:15am on Christmas Day. (Thank $DEITY he has a computer and "Wal-Mart Connect" dialup service, at least.)

  • Above(Below?)-mentioned Longfellow book
  • $200 in cash and money orders
  • Old Navy velour hoodie and pants in black. Wearing those now. Mmm. :)
  • Hat, glove, and scarf set in green, beige, and green/beige stripe, respectively. My sister brought up having the gift receipt if I wanted to return them, which I would like to do, but I still feel socially unacceptable telling her so. Sigh. It's not that I don't LIKE them, I just have all the hats, gloves, and scarves that I need, and I'm sure I could find something else at Target to use the credit for.
  • 3 Christmas ornaments for future tree
  • chocolate chip cookie dough mix in decorative tin
  • Warming weighted pillow neck massager thingy.
  • Lord of the Rings: Final Battle of Middle Earth Gift Pack (action figures.) I am stupid, stupid, stupid for opening this, because I don't intend to keep it, and now it's not in perfect condition anymore. Ah well.
  • A box of chocolate-covered cherries, which I shared with the rest of the family out of my kind, sharing soul, not at all because I really don't like cherries. Really.
  • Other various candies. They were in my stocking, so they count as gifts.
  • Whatever was supposedly mailed to me this week from my father. Perhaps more money. [livejournal.com profile] londo, have you been checking the mail?

So, $200. All the gifts I bought, which were $100 total, were bought on my credit card, so I can use that cash to immediately pay those off. Then I'm torn between the practical thing to do (use the other $100 on the card as well) and the impractical thing to do (splurge on something!) Well, there's also the mostly-practical thing to do, which is use the money towards something I'd buy anyway when I had the cash. Hrm.

Oh, right. New userpic, ganked from [livejournal.com profile] jmspencer. I liked it too much to let it go. :)

    Ah! Friends-Circle Alert!

How do you know [livejournal.com profile] judecorp and [livejournal.com profile] juldea?

She knows me through [livejournal.com profile] tinder, who was one of my high-school boyfriends in Oklahoma. She was on HIS friends' list, said interesting things, I added her. Or perhaps vice-versa, I don't really remember.

I don't know this other person.

I didn't say you knew Jude. But Oddharmonic does, and that's weird.

I would say I know them because I was born and reared in Massachusetts and therefore know everyone in the state, but that's not true. *laughs*

I met [livejournal.com profile] judecorp through [livejournal.com profile] solcita, whose husband was stationed at the same base as my then-husband; we met through a North Carolina military wives' mailing list before she sent me an invitation to LiveJournal. I first saw Jude commenting to Sunnie's journal and thought she sounded interesting, plus I lived in Blackstone for awhile and would have attended Mount if my family hadn't moved to Colorado.

[livejournal.com profile] juldea I know through [livejournal.com profile] tinder, who I've known online for about ten years (and no longer remember how we met) and, again, he was among my first LJ friends.
