So, normally [livejournal.com profile] etherial picks up [livejournal.com profile] londo and me on Friday night and takes us to Crossroads for the weekend. Yesterday (being Friday afternoon), I told londo that I wanted to go on Saturday instead, and that I would take a commuter rail up to the game site around 11 where someone could pick me up. I suggested this because i) I was behind on sleep and if I went to Crossroads that night I wouldn't get much, and ii) I wanted to get some unpacking done to find some things I wanted to bring.

I came home at 6, found that londo was already gone (assumedly he and etherial left early because they could, not having to wait on me), and flopped down in bed. 16 hours later it's 10am and I wake up!

Needless to say I'm not making the train I wanted to, AND I haven't unpacked anything. I'll be attempting to get some of that done now, I suppose.

Seriously, though - what makes me so exhausted? I was "behind on sleep" but that just means I was getting 6 hours a night instead of 8 SOME of the nights this week. I guess mental exhaustion from the move?

Mental exhaustion lasts far longer than simply missing a little sleep. Most people need time to recover from a move, even if the move is not stressful. Just let yourself come back at your own rate. Nobody should be keeping tabs on you for such a thing (and if they are, we can kick their ass).

Well, I know my sleep is always less effective on nights when it's raining, so I've been pretty sleep-dep'd lately. By "less effective", I mean that it takes about 50% more time to get the same degree of rest. I blame it on dampness and being allergic to airborne molds. I'm not sure if that's actually what's going on, but I suggest rain as a possible factor in the problem.

Hmm. I generally associate sleepiness-on-rainy-days with a mood issue. I suppose it could be otherwise associated...

Actually, we left early because I told [livejournal.com profile] etherial what you told me - that you'd be coming up on Saturday morning.

Um, exactly. You could leave early since you didn't have to wait on me, so you did.

Well, I managed to stay dry AND get some of the kitchen unpacked, and all of my clothing, and catch up on sleep - so it was a profitable weekend! I missed you all too, though.
