I have an outer ear infection, also known as "Swimmer's Ear," because it's often caused by water in the ear. I haven't been swimming in quite a while, so I don't know about that. Anyway.

I also had a 100.7 fever.

I got two flavors of eardrops; antibiotic (because oral antibiotics will not work right for this) and painkiller. Which is wimpy. I mean, I don't want to die anymore, but I'm still hurting a lot. :(

So... I don't see me going to the dress rehearsal tonight. Which means no show for me. I am, as you can imagine, not feeling at all happy about this. But what can I do? My body has revolted against me.

Sorry, everyone. I wish I could do it, too.

ouch! that's rotten and no fun at all...

you can get them from baths/showers too.. I used to get swimmer's ear all the time (runs in my family).

Once it's cleared up.. if you ever think you get water caught in your ear after showering or something, try using water babies (available over the counter). You lie down with it in your ear for 5-10 minutes (a drop or two), and then switch sides for a couple minutes and all the water will drain out!
