NYC, again

juldeaOkay, regarding the below post about NYC travel:
We do, in fact, HAVE to do this by car. We have extremely tight time constraints (mainly, getting me to as much work as possible) and not-tight-but-there money constraints. Surprisingly, Greyhound doesn't allow the whole companion fare discount when travelling between Boston and NYC, so they are prohibitively expensive ($100+). The Fung Wah bus and Amtrak don't have schedules that work for us.
The rental car I got for $35. Even when you put gas on top of this, it's cheaper than the Greyhound. Gas will be what, $30 for the round-trip? A tank? I got an economy car, and it's mostly highway driving. I might be mistaken here, but I have gone over 7 hours on a tank in a car with crappier gas mileage, so I do have some experience.
So yeah. Rental car. Thanks to those who have helped! (Not that others shouldn't help. The more info the better!)
