Does each of these yarns have a project already planned for it? Or do you just buy like I do my scrapping supplies and then they tend to sit in the closet because I have a 20 month old I can't control or get to sleep normally. :)

18 out of 41 yarns have a to-do project for them. :) That's almost half!

You annotated your stash pictures? Stash pictures are just supposed to be impressive on their own!

Now I am curious to see what mine looks like...so possibly I will be posting that in the near future.

I had something else to say that was relatively witty, but I don't rememberwhat it was.

Well, yes, in the sense that you took the time, although it does make the stash finite as opposed to a seemingly infinite closet of yarn. But it is, indeed, a mighty stash of yarn. (The tie-dye is cool.)

On a shelf in her apartment, a knitter kept her yarn. Not a nasty, dirty, damp shelf, filled with dust and a musty smell, nor a tiny, scratchy, uneven shelf with splinters and nails to catch and pull: it was a knitter's shelf, and that means plenty. Oh, and such plenty!

Homespun is my secret favorite. I dunno why. My mom made me a hat and scarf out of Homespun *right* when it was coming out. This was years ago and still I get compliments on the pair, and even when it gets a bit warmer I STILL wear them. Because they are that awsome.

Baby blankie.: Done. Baby hat: Almost done. And next, amazement of all amazement, I'm going to make something for myself!!! (::Shocked gasp!!::)

:D

I learned on Homespun, so I'm fairly partial to it. I see all sorts of people complaining about it in [livejournal.com profile] knitting and I just don't know why! It's an acrylic that doesn't feel like crap, it comes in pretty colors, it's cheap, and it looks GREAT when knit up!

Also, I think that learning on it means that when I was done, I'm light years ahead of other newbies. Because it IS hard to see and work with, but I didn't know this, so learning how to deal with knots and dropped stitches and even telling a knit from a purl on Homespun means that it's SO EASY to do with other yarns now! ;)

I know! But there's so little of it... I really don't know what to do with it! Suggestions welcome! :)

28, 36, and 37 are so far unclaimed! So what would you like? :)

Lemme give you a closeup of the furry/feathery stuff, maybe it'll make more sense:

Image

See... the furry bits come off of a central strand. So you knit and stuff with the central strand, and the rest just hangs out, being furry. :) And then you end up with this:

I really like the feathery way the fringe from Homespun comes out. I'm actually about to start on my first homespun project. It's the poncho pattern that they give out free at Michael's. Really really really easy. I'm still not very good at the fancy-pants stuff yet.

Oh, and I gave my mom the pattern for that scarf. I think she's gonna make it pretty soon. :)

made my way over here via [livejournal.com profile] kobold and was excited to see a fellow knitter! You're right...the Lamb's Pride bulky looks so much fun to work with. I'm currently working with a great one ply wool yarn that is so yummy. My girlfriend loves the Homespun yarns, and I'm thinking about getting some to make a bunny hat for a friend of mine.

Yarn + me=happy
