Voting has been done. Yay, me.
Somerville, Ward 3, Precinct 1
Line was fairly long when I got there, a little after 6. People also voting after getting home from work, I guess. I waited about... 15-20 minutes. Actual voting took about 30 seconds. I disagree with the anti-climactic-ism others are saying... I felt a shiver go through me as I connected those lines.
This is the first time I've ever voted Democrat ever, I believe. At least in regards to elections I remember. In 2000 I went Libertarian (and don't remember the other bits), and before that I was, yes, a Limbaugh-listening Republican. My, how growing up can change one's paradigm.
My dad called while I was in line. I should call him back.

on 2 Nov 2004 21:41 (UTC)Voting here is compulsary, so I've always thought of it as just one of those things, you know? You do it. But there, I'm told, it's by choice.. that must make for either a very good election [only those who REALLY know what they want vote] or a very wonkey one [only those who've been brainwashed enough vote]... but I guess whatever it is, it has worked for years, so I have faith in it.
I hope the better man [whoever he may be] wins.
Also, on a not-quite-related note: You're my new favorite LJ person. Hardly anyone on my friends list updates and you're always providing interesting stuff for me!
w00t!
xx.
