So... lunch time. Today is new hire orientation. Mmm, fun. Especially since I got 2.5 hours of sleep last night...

Well, I had awakened late, and then [livejournal.com profile] londo decided he'd stay the night and return to Worcester this morning, so I didn't want to go to bed early... and then [livejournal.com profile] sandrylene (welcome her to my journal!) came over with pie... Things just spiraled into an evening of Buckaroo Bonzai and piemonade. (No really, we made piemonade - a slice of apple pie and some vanilla ice cream in a blender. Blend. Drink. Enjoy.) Anyway, it was a fun night. And I ended up going to bed at 3 and waking up at 5:30.

So I had it written that this orientation started at 7:30, so I got here at 7:15, and the first presenter started at 8:15. Yar. (Point of note: I learned that I can stand regular coffee with four creams and four sugars. Anything less is VILE. I guess that says good things about the blackness of my heart and the bitterness of my soul?) The good bit of this is that I thought ahead and brought my knitting - I'm in the middle of my first knitting project ever, a scarf - and therefore I've been knitting for, um, about 5 hours straight. I think I've doubled the length of the scarf... and I'm fairly certain I'll finish off this skein(?) of yarn by the end of the day. Y'see, these presenters don't mind that I knit while they talk, because I still listen and ask all the relevant questions.

So, yeah, I'm learning about a bunch of safety procedures and benefits and earned time and yadda. The benefits will be the most important part... turns out I don't get to access them until Nov. 1 :( So, uh, lotsa dentist's appointments to be made then. Hmm, I wonder if I can make the appointments now, so I can go in asap after Nov. 1... I really need to get my teeth fixed. And new glasses. And blood tests for thyroid issues. And my Graves' ophthalmopathy checked out... Yeah. I'm so broken.

So if I don't get food now, I don't get food. Seeya.

HTML coding fault. That's the usual action when the hotlink is coded but null.

You should be able to make your dental appointments now - just tell them that they need to be after the 1st - chances are, that's the soonest you'd be able to get in anyway - most dentists are pretty well booked in advance.

amen to that. my boss was a little annoyed at how many appointments i made within my first two months of being benefit-qualified - make em in advance, make sure the doctor/dentist is close to your office so you can go on your lunch break.. they won't have any evening appointments. those get booked about 8 months in advance.

You did get me two, which means I can either make something else or make a REALLY long scarf!

Hmm... I just realized you won't be at dance practice on Wednesday to show me how to finish it off... :P

Yeah, I guess lunch is when I'll have to do 'em... which is actually okay, because I generally take lunch not at noon, so there will be appointments available. And yeah, it'll be in one of the nearby buildings.

I can't believe you endeed up staying up later than I did that night. Damn. And you had work earlier. You're making me look bad, what with my claims of fatigue and insomnia.

Not hardcore enough! Must go all of next week with my eyes strung open! YES!
