Friday: Hung out with
learnedax in the morning. Then work, then hung out with
laura47. She is awesome and fed me and let me do laundry at her house. And I had a lot to do. It was a fun night and I met a bunch of new people and talked to Peter more than I ever had before. I like lots of
laura47's friends. Yay!
Saturday: Went a-LARP-ing with
londo,
etherial, and a bunch of others that might have LJs but I don't know it. Game happened out in the woods at the Camp Acton conservation land in Acton, MA. We're talking squatting-behind-a-tree out in the woods. I'm glad I thought to bring a roll of toilet paper with me. Anyway. The weather was very cold, even with a fire burning.
If you at all have interest in the game you should mention so in a comment, because I won't go into all of that unless people actually care (besides the two who already know most anything I'd say!)
Sunday: More LARPing. I originally intended to only go on Saturday, but what can I say, this game is addictive. I went even though it was rainy as well as cold. I apparently impressed the GMs, yay! One of them told me so on IM today. In fact, I was called a "good roleplayer." Woo!
After the game, I went to Adriana's house to hang out with her, watch tv, and make a few bucks.
Monday: Had interview with PSG this morning. They think I'm awesome on a stick, possibly because I managed to whip out 106 wpm on their typing test. Apparently I kicked butt on their MS Word and Excel tests, too. They invited me to join their Guaranteed Work Program, supposedly guaranteeing me at least 35 hours a week at $9/hr. I didn't check what type of guarantee that was, however. If it's legal, I'm all for that. It's a lower rate than I'm making now, but more hours, so it works out better overall. They want a bit more information about how much notice Contemporaries will need for me to quit my current job, however, so I am going to make more phone calls in the morning.
laura47, I wrote your name on my application, so after I work (I think) 40 hours for them, you get $100! Woo! Would that erase my $11 debt to you? ;)
I had a discussion with Jim about financial stuff for the next few months. He's leaving town to go to Europe on the 13th and will be back no earlier than May 17th. And could be gone as long as July. He's going to continue to pay rent during that time since his stuff is using up half the apartment, but I'll cover bills. Also, if I want to take over the lease when he leaves at the end of the summer, he will need $1625. This will pay him for what he has deposited into the security of the apartment, etc. so far. I decided I'm glad I asked about this so early in advance, because I bet I will have to ask my father to borrow that money. I won't be footing it all myself, because at least one other person will move in with me, but it's still a significant chunk.
But, anyway: I'll have my own apartment for at least a month! Whee! Who wants a party?

on 19 Apr 2004 11:39 (UTC)Of course, anything involving $1625 sounds a bit daunting...

on 27 Apr 2004 16:27 (UTC)Yes, I'm looking for a roommate to replace mine who is moving in July. The $1625 is the security and such that will need to be paid - split in half, of course. Rent is (in total) $1125 a month. I have two cats. There are a couple of other people inquiring about the place right now, just so you know, but nothing is solid yet. :) Drop me an IM message or email if you have any questions.

on 27 Apr 2004 18:29 (UTC)My main question would be where you live, I'm a bit flexible about being away from school if it's near the T but I couldn't live in, say, Waltham or something. I also have a car - how's parking?
I have a guinea pig, and I'd probably want to bring him with. Cats should not bother him if I keep my door closed, and, well, he lives in a box. I personally love cats.
I'm also looking at other options near my school, mainly Huntington Ave, but maybe we can each keep each other in mind if our other options or people looking fall through. I'll try to catch you on AIM (my username is femakita). I'll also be at dance a week from tomorrow.
