Hello, folks!

This is me updating from [livejournal.com profile] londo's room on day 2 of Gaming Weekend at WPI. I was silly and didn't mention this before I left, so I'll explain it now: a weekend full of games (card, board, role-playing, video, and sometimes even mind) held in the basement of one of the dorms on campus. I showed up last night with [livejournal.com profile] tpau and [livejournal.com profile] learnedax about, uh, 7:30, grabbed [livejournal.com profile] londo and had thai food, and then returned for gaming at about 9 or 10. I played some Settlers of Catan, several hilarious hours of Apples to Apples, some DDR, and uh... let's see. Nothing else last night. By the end of all of that it was 5:30 and back to londo's place for sleeping (except for he himself, who was still playing a Babylon 5 card game that lasted until 11am).

Woke up at noon, went to IHOP for food, and now have been online for a bit. Am going to take a shower then wake up the boy at 4 to head in for more gaming. Maybe I'll play my first ever Scrabble!

Now, have you never played Scrabble because it's not very popular in the US or is it that you never got around to doing it even though everyone else you know has played it?

Oh man, Randen, I think you'd have such a blast in this group and at that particular event. You'll appreciate this: [livejournal.com profile] londo was involved in (and won) a six-person, seven-hour Babylon 5 card game (CCG). It was insane.

The latter. And not only has everyone else I know played it (it's one of the more popular board games in the US among learned people), most also say that I would really enjoy it and be awesome at it. After all, I majored in LETTERS! ;)

At this point, it's kind of a badge of pride that I haven't. Most of the games that started over the weekend did so while I was already busy, however. Either that, or I was dead tired and going home.

Heh. I'm trying to get them to play 3k and THEN come with me to the OMP!
