A link for those who don't have [livejournal.com profile] alexx_kay friended: Translucent concrete! This is so awesome. It will have to be incorporated into the grand design for my eventual self-built house.

Also awesome is the fact that I pondered for a second if I needed to define 'translucent', then realized that everyone who reads this journal should already know what it means. Yay, all my friends are smart!

Trance-loo-cent. That means it's got lots of tiny holes in it, right?

Now I want to build something big and artful out of this and transparent alumina.

'Translucent' is your rubric??? I guess it's possible for someone of a non-technical background to be sufficiently wired as to read your LJ and not ever have run across the term, but it isn't exactly sesquipedalian.

It's a rubric. There are of course varying levels (one of them using 'sesquipedalian').

By the way, [livejournal.com profile] laura47 thinks your hair is red. I am firm in its blondness. What do you think?

What I think is that it's strange how many people say I'm a blond when I have at most light brown hair.

I have several times dyed my hair red, in large part because [livejournal.com profile] tpau loves red hair, so [livejournal.com profile] laura47's probably thinking of that. However, it typically fades quickly since I don't bleach, and the result is lighter than natural. This userpic is my unmodified color.

(Ha! I may not be able to tell if she's drunk, but she can't even tell my hair color).

Well, in that userpic I guess I would call your hair light brown. It comes off blonder in person, however.
