I like Worcester. It's a very nice place... or at least, what I saw of it. And yes, I saw more than just [livejournal.com profile] londo's apartment. ;) I saw parts of WPI (Friday night Wedge gaming), Thai Cha-Da, and um.. a Price Cutter and a Walgreen's... and the bus station... and Denny's! We left the apartment, I swear.

I plan on going back... hopefully often. :D

A sentence that roughly describes my relationship with [livejournal.com profile] londo: He pulls the rug out from underneath my feet so that he can worship the ground I walk on. :)

Price Chopper. ;-)

The Wedge is a pale imitation of what it once was, saidly. You missed the majesty of the Wedge Benches and the bowling alley tables. :-)

Chopper, right. I don't know why I keep misnaming it; I said that multiple times while there, too.

I fear what the Wedge was during some mystical heyday... as it is, the room was the largest bunch of stereotypes I've seen together in one place ever. Of course, this could be because I've never attended a convention of any type...

Glad you hate fun!

After my songwriting class today, I hope you realize that I'm gonna steal that last line and put it into a song.

I won't give you any money, but I'll credit you in my acceptance speech.

Glad someone besides me found it witty!

I'm glad she hates fun, too. Otherwise she might have a good time. ;)

Wow. Haven't thought of The Wedge in years, maybe decades. When I was a teenager, both of my parents worked at Whoopee. I would often hang out on campus, and around The Wedge -- but I remember my parents warning me to stay away from "those weird kids playing that D&D stuff". This was the first I'd ever heard of D&D, so it would have been in the very early 80's.

I knew you were from Worcester, but I didn't know you knew anything 'bout the Wedge...

Oh, yeah. My dad used to play Bridge there *all* the time...

This tells me a lot about how much you paid attention to your parents... ;)

Oh, come now. My parents taught me *loads* of useful lesons!

Not necessarily the ones they *meant* to, of course...

I think you saw all good parts. I went to University there (Clark) and I can tell you Worcester has MORE than its share of nasty bad shady ugly areas. Just make sure Londo takes you to all the good ones. :)

I sure was happy to leave Worcester, though that may have as much to do with parents and adolescence as the town itself. But there is a distinct lack of "cultcha" there.

I'd offer to show people around one of my favorite bad spots, but, sadly, it's been renovated. While the new train station is pretty, it's not a patch on the abandoned, crumbling, gothic ruin it used to be :-)

I live in Worcester. I can show you my cats and we can watch Firefly! Bring tons of friends and I'll buy beer. A good time will be had by all or a serious beating will follow. :-)
