I know I'm prone to fits of depression if I don't do constructive things, I know I'm about to ruin a lot of things in my life if I don't act quickly on a few projects, I know my emotions are kinda whacked at the moment anyway, and yet I spend an entire day doing nothing.

I mean, I caught up on Livejournal, but in the grand scheme of things...

Tomorrow I should get up early, clean parts of the house, go to the gym, write and mail a few important things, make important phone calls, and work on my papers.

Don't get down on yourself for that - sometimes we all need to take a day and do nothing. I know what it is like, I think we all feel some pressure to 'be constructive' and there is some kind of guilt for 'wasting time'. But, you know, taking the time to just enjoy a day and recharge is important. And, from what you've posted, you probably needed a low pressure day to process the past month, even subconciously.

You caught up on LJ, getting back into the flow of things, that is important for resuming life.

I thought you finished those papers months ago.

Keeping busy is by far the best way to avoid depression. That and not listening to sad music, no matter how tempting;). Wise woman!

Heh, most of the past month was taking days to do nothing. I haven't really earned the luxury of another one, I'd say... but I took it anyway, so I'm not complaining about yesterday, I'm just making plans for today.

...just as soon as I reply to LJ comments. ;)

Doh, how about we see if keeping busy keeps me happy enough, and if not then I'll remove the sad music. Sad music is good music!
