I just finished Second Foundation, the last book in Issac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy. I had never read it before.

Wow!!!

I read it all today. Started earlier this evening, and just finished it. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. The previous two were good, but not engrossing like this one. I guess it's the stuff about the psychologists that did it. (I realize that to those who haven't read the books, thinking that psychologists made a book exciting and engrossing possibly sounds really weird, but it's TRUE!)

I haven't felt this excited about a book since Ender's Game. And just like Ender's Game, this trilogy has other books that have been added to it. Two prequels and two sequels, if I recall correctly. They're probably vastly inferior, so I'll have to give the book a bit of time to fade in my mind before I go trying to read them and hold them up to the standards therein.

:)

I haven't read the Foundation trilogy since I was a teenager, at least 15 years ago, but I remember having the same reaction. One of those pieces of literature that can genuinely affect the way you look at the world...

Actually, I *loved* them all. Asimov is consistently raising the bar with his works. I have them all in txt format if you're interested.

I might need some of those. I've been able to find, via people, the complete original Trilogy and Foundation's Edge. I might be able to find the others at the public library. I prefer reading books to the computer screen (I look at the screen so much), so I'll look for them first... but thanks :)
