horrible, horrible.
I had been doing well, spending all my time on the couch, feeling better each day. Then yesterday grinds to a close and I'm really achey for some reason. I go to bed at midnight-ish and I just couldn't sleep. Every position was painful. I tossed and turned all night - except I couldn't toss and turn, if I tried in my sleep I woke up in pain, and then struggled to turn myself around without using my back. I was in bed from midnight to 9 and I swear I got an hour of sleep total. I feel horrible.
Now I'm back on the couch and full of ibuprofen (well not FULL), and hopefully I'll relax enough to be comfortable and nod off.
In the not-injury news, Mike (
karlean7), whom I met last Saturday night at Randy*Con, came over last night. First he hummed for a while (dictation homework) but then I lured him away from his computer with the promise of Buffy. :) Not to say he was ignoring me, we made conversation inbetween the simple triads :) Plus I pulled out my flute and tried to match what the computer was playing. It was fun.
I have noticed a new rite of passage - you meet new people, and immediately exhange media. He lent me all his CDs to copy (yay more Jonathan Larsen!), and I lent him a book and would have lent him Buffy if he had a decent DVD player. It's all good :)
Yay friends!
Now to watch Firefly until my eyes bleed or I fall asleep. Um, I hope it's the latter.

on 26 Sep 2003 10:00 (UTC)for what it's worth, painkillers never worked for me, but there are a number of back exercises that i found on webMD that always helped. i was in tears the first couple times i tried it, but i kept my own pace and stuck with it. that's the only thing that helps me.
good luck, feel better!
