Pixel is having a lot of fun with the various cardboard boxes strewn across the apartment. :)

I called Papa John's and had them send me over the larger boxes that they emptied today. I'm starting to pack up some stuff.

There was one kinda-short box sitting next to two tall boxes in the living room. Pixel was peeking into the short box and jumped into it. In the process she knocked the box over so that the opening was now up against the two tall boxes - she was trapped! I found it funny. She didn't. ;)

My parents got officially divorced yesterday. Finally. Er, finally in the sense that the proceedings have lasted over a year, almost two, because of stupid stubbornness. It just needed to end.

Both of them think I should do the truck rental thing. Well I guess they know best...

Ugh on the divorce nonsense. A couple of the attorneys in my office do matrimonial stuff, but I stay the FUCK away from it. Ugly ugly stuff. The cases never end, and I've never seen such vitriol in any ofther branch of the law. I think I'm thr only one of my friends whose parents are still together...

Oh it was a completely surprise. Totally out of the blue. 25+ years of never seeing a fight (arguments yes, no fights), never feeling any tension (besides what we kids created in our teenage years), happy family vacations and such... and then wham! No more.

My dad was transferred right before my younger sister's senior year of high school, so it was decided that he would move first and mom would stay behind and get her through school (I don't see why she got the privledge, my older brother was moved for his senior year and I was moved for my junior, and we survived). I guess being apart just opened my dad's eyes to ... well, something. It opened them to his girlfriend at least. :P And that was that.

Here's a hug on the parents divorce. I remember when my parents' was final -- the friday of parents weekend my junior year in college. I was relieved, I was sad, I was pissed at them for taking forever about it, for taking so damn long to basically fight about money... It's never easy, but it gets less hard. And I too will never never go into matrimonial law. UGH.
