Matrix decided to tear around the house for a while. Right as I entered the living room on my way to get a drink, she decided to run across the room into the kitchen. The problem is, she couldn't see that the glass door to the entertainment system was standing open... directly in her way.

Everyone is okay. Well, except for the entertainment system. I guess it gets to live without a door for a while. But Matrix is fine - she didn't even seem dazed, just ran right into the bedroom and jumped on the bed. Pixel was already in the bedroom, so I immediately shut the door to lock them in and examined paws. No glass shards or cuts were evident.

I then took pictures, and finally I cleaned up the mess. The glass seems to be pretty low-grade stuff, disentigrating into chunks rather than shards, so it was easy to clean up and didn't leave me with any small cuts. We'll see about what's left in the carpet though...

I'm still amazed that I had just walked into the room when it happened. I wish I could recreate the noise. It was... incredible.

chunks that don't stab you are from better quality glass than shards. chunks mean that it's been tempered, heat-treated, or somehow coated (for your protection).

Damn... That was one fast moving kitty!

That's almost enough to make me thankful that Nikita has only destroyed paper and cardboard related objects so far...

So is the cat on some kind of rail system for launching? That's impressive. I was going to point out the high quality/chunk glass thing but it looks as if I was beat to it. Although I'm not sure how quality it is if a cat can demolish it. Again though, I point to the rail launch system as my theory.

Have you never owned a cat? They can go from standing still to 30 miles an hour in one leap. *grin* Still, I agree that it's rather amazing. I don't know how she did it. Maybe the glass was weakened from previous beatings, or something?
