Not like my whole life is entirely broke-ass, but just a couple of things I thought I'd share...

1) On the phone with my mother last night, she mentioned that my little sister's boyfriend got her a Ring. Yes, a Ring. Capital R and all. My sister is 19 and her boyfriend is either 20 or 21, I can't quite remember. He's younger than me, at any rate. Yeah, so they slept together 3 days after they met (um, mom didn't tell me this part, Deanna did, a while back) and have been living together this summer... That's still rather broke-ass. Mom reported that Deanna has been saying it will be a "really long engagement"... but still. I think they're going just a bit too fast. My views on the subject is that "really long engagements" can be scaled down and called "promises", and the time for the ring is the time when you're ready to do things like set a date and start calling caterers. Oh well.

2) Much less emotionally broke-ass, but confusing. Woke up, stepped on the scale - 151.5. Cool. Went to the bathroom, realized that I usually weigh myself after such an activity, stepped back on the scale. 152. ?????? How did I gain weight?? Very confusing. Ah well, still as low as it's been. :)

3) Cats got in a fight on my bed the other night. On me. Well, on my ankle. Come see the 3 deep, long, red-from-dried-blood scratches! Dumb cats.

Well, my dad arrives in a few hours, so I've gotta get showered and dressed and all to meet him. Hooray for days off school and work, by the way!

59 hours. *bounce*

does your mom know that they're sleeping together? (sorry, my obsession with your mom comes to the surface again, grin)

there's nothing wrong with getting married at a young age! heh of course if you want an unbiased opinion, don't ask me...

what will adalius say?

Well, I just found out that Deanna and Blake are living together now (the owner of the ranch switched to someone new, so all the people who were renting rooms out of the ranch house, like Blake, had to move out, and Deanna just went with him for the hell of it... I think she was practically staying with him there anyway)... so I guess my parents would be stupid to assume they WEREN'T sleeping together. Heh. I did hear my dad say tonight, though, that "when the shacking up starts, the money stops"... *grin*

The story of that is, when my father asked my maternal grandfather for permission to marry my mother, he said, "When the marriage starts, the money stops." That was the kind of guy my grandpa was ;) And I'm glad my father is following in his footsteps. I certainly don't expect to depend on them when I go to Boston.

As far as I know, my father doesn't know yet. Blake was going to get him alone tonight and tell him or ask him or whatever he thought would put him in a good light, but I don't know if it happened. Mom and Dad weren't separated tonight that much. I'm very happy to see them together. :)

I saw the ring, though, made Deanna show it off when no one else was around. It's simple and pretty, just a gold band with a round diamond... a bigger diamond then I was expecting from a 20 year old, though. Not huge, but visible. Deanna mentioned the size but I promptly forgot it. heh

I have no idea what I'm going to tell Adalius ;) But considering he's recovering from heart surgury at the moment (which you would know if you read the main mud board), I don't think he'll be hearing any time soon. He's on hiatus from the mud until he can sit up without pain. :( I hope he's well.

hmm, asking permission seems so very 19th-century to me.

is it weird to have a younger sister who has an engagement ring?

1. Hooray for young ladies with such negotiable virtue. I've never met a girl who was ready to fuck three days after meeting, or at least I've never benefited from meeting such a girl.

2. Helium shit. That's why you were heavier afterward. Not more massive, but denser on average.

3. Your cats were fighting over the rent. They each think it is the other's turn to pay you.

Wax is bad.

Asking permission is more of a courtesy than an actual requirement. I think it's a very cool thing to do.

Yeah, Emily, Travis, and I were making jokes last night about me being the old maid of the family, at 21. How Deanna has made me a spinster. Heehee.

Ty, I don't think you're in any position at ALL to discuss virtue, Mr. I'll-Fuck-Anything-That-Lets-Me.

I, Oliver Cromwell, take up the gauntlet that you have thrown down.

You can't report that you're sister is easy without expecting some sort of "hooray for sluts" comment.

Also, I think Ty has turned down sex. At least 3 times in his life. Mind you, two of those times were because a man propositioned him, and Ty has yet to free himself from the bonds of heterosexuality.

The third time was probably because I was full of alcohol and he wasn't sure that he {befuddled as Ty was} fully understood the ethical implications of the situation, and so wisely decided that he should not fuck while under the influence. Ty's a real softy for ethics.

God's grace be with you and your sister,
Oliver Cromwell,
Lord Protector of England,
Huge Sagging Gut, With Attendant Hunger Pangs.

There's a big difference between sleeping with someone 3 days after meeting them, and being easy. Or are you going to call me easy because I slept with Jason a week after meeting him? I believe in love at first sight, and it seems that my sister and her fiance clicked when they first met. Good for them.

My sister at least has standards, and has waited for someone who, for his age, is pretty damn mature and intelligent, has his shit together, and I respect for the most part.

Unlike some people I know, who prey on girls with low self-esteem because he knows they are easy lays - since they don't believe they can get any better. Who don't have any standards besides "am I sure this won't bother me later?". Who claims 3 different women to be "the love of my life", and then goes to sleep with another. If you call that ethics, I call it revolting and pitiful.
