juldea: (sheep french horn)
Oh my, what an amazingly great weekend. Hats, shoes, socks, shirts, and pants off to [livejournal.com profile] shogunhb and [livejournal.com profile] shadowravyn for being awesome friends and hosts.

Friday: Fourth of July BBQ party. Food was eaten, friends were hung out with, sangria was drunk, new friends were invited over, games were played, 1-Up Mushroom Burgers were made. It was a truly awesome party, one of the best in memory.

Saturday: Slept in, went on a short excursion to the grocery store with [livejournal.com profile] londo, and then ended up spending the day reading a book. Just that, began and ended the book: Kushiel's Mercy, the last book in the second trilogy set in that world, and really, really neat. Carey uses a rather neat trick in it regarding characters' viewpoints, and that's all I'm going to say about that. A few things happened around the reading: dinner with friends, Babylon 5 showings. A nice lazy day.

Sunday: Brunch, followed by some awesome wardrobe-malfunction-management by [livejournal.com profile] shogunhb, then hours upon hours of time spent with the gorgeous [livejournal.com profile] shadowravyn trying to help me find the exact right dress I need for the various formal occasions this summer. The winner? this, although damn I make it look a LOT better than that model. I'll upload a pic in a bit. Then home, and now this post.
