I am displeased with the level of surprise anal rapage the last 15 hours have brought me. Not only the Zipcar issue, but then my computer spontaneously failed last night while trying to watch Juno. Went to bed on the grounds I'll figure it out after sleep, and it turns out this morning I have full hard drive failure. Dammit!

Please answer via text message to phone (via my LJ profile if you don't have my phone #) as this is time-sensitive: is XP Pro worth $60 over XP Home?

I believe I walked under a ladder at some point, or broke a mirror.

It is currently 11:30. Londo and I left for Microcenter at 1:30ish today to purchase me a new hard drive and a honest copy of Windows XP. We didn't get home from that trip until much too late due to unfortunate delays there, and the past 8? hours have been spent continuously attempting to install Windows on my new drive. Issue after issue, error after error. I am finally at a point where I am up and running, now, and I am pretty much frazzled beyond caring anymore. I'm getting some anti-virus downloaded and installed and then going to bed.

It turns out I might have a perfectly fine drive and just a bad stick of RAM. Which means I just spent $150 for... well, not for nothing, but it wasn't totally necessary. Feh. I'll find out later.
