First off - spoiler-free post.
Stardust is awesome. It literally inspires awe. I have enjoyed it more than any new movie in a long time. It is not perfect, but it is very, very, very good.
It is a fairy tale. It is fluffy. However, it is also funny and clever. It is a movie that children can be taken to see, and they will be confused at some points when their parents crack up but they will not see anything they shouldn't - violence included. There are fights and murders, but nothing horrendously gory happens.
About 15 minutes into the film, after all the plotlines had been introduced, I turned to
alexx_kay and said, "I figured out how the movie ends," and I was right. However, watching the movie get to that point was a pure joy.
Go into it as you would your first viewing of The Princess Bride and I don't think you'll be unhappy.
