Those of you more experienced than me (there probably aren't many of you!), please assist:

I wish to travel during the 1st weekend and 2nd week of August. That's leaving Boston on the 4th or 5th and returning on the 14th-15th. I wish to visit BOTH Oklahoma and Michigan. This is the problem.

Renting a car will not be feasible because of the cost in rental and gas and the driving time. I want to have quality time in two states a great deal away from here and each other; I don't want to spend most of my vacation time driving. So... What's the best way to fly in a three-city round-trip? Look for one-way flights? Call a travel agent?

Things I wish to attend:
- Bellydance workshop/show with my old troupe in OKC, OK, on the 5th-7th (5th is optional)
- Three Kingdoms Official Mud Party in Detroit, MI, on the 12th-13th

Sigh. This trip will, however, have me missing a Crossroads game and the DCI World Championship Finals in Foxboro on the 11th-13th. Hellooooo, internal conflict! :P

Also, there's the question of whether or not [livejournal.com profile] londo will be going with me... *eyes him meaningfully*

Last night I visted [livejournal.com profile] 43duckies and [livejournal.com profile] tpau/[livejournal.com profile] learnedax and pilfered both of their stashes of boxes. I cleared out 43duckies but only took a few from the others... I had a Zipcar Scion xB for the event and it was STACKED FULL. Rock on.

I was listening to the radio on 101.7 FNX and heard a commercial spouting that if you wanted to hear music from the future without getting a time machine, just listen to their station. They play stuff so new, yadda. They followed this commercial by playing the Beastie Boys - You Gotta Fight For Your Right. I found this highly amusing.

I LOVE my navigational sense. I was driving back from Worcester last night (after leaving tpau/learnedax's place, I went there to visit [livejournal.com profile] londo and drop off some boxes for him) via the Pike and forgot that after you pay the toll to get inside the I-95 loop (which I BARELY had the change for) you have to pay another if you want to exit in Boston itself. So I took the first exit I could, for Newton/Watertown, only it dumped me in a completely unfamiliar area with no signs or major highways to navigate by. Just my own sense of "this seems likely to take me somewhere good..." And I ended up on Soldier's Field Rd at the IHOP where londo and I kind-of had our second date. ^_^ (It had been late night, after the Sandman LARP ended, and I had dinner with him and Will and Ken and Peter and [livejournal.com profile] laura47, and [livejournal.com profile] rigel and [livejournal.com profile] bleemoo were there too, and rigel told me to be good to him... Whee!) So yeah, I made it home from there just fine. :)

As I recently ranted at [livejournal.com profile] londo on AIM...

I have free time, and no clue what to do with it. I'm so not used to free time. Normally I have Something To Do or londo is here limiting/helping decide my options. Right now the only person with demands on me is me.

I don't have to be anywhere until tomorrow morning, and then I just have to be here at home. I don't have any plans for the weekend other than being at home. There are a ton of things I could do: read, knit, chat, mud, dishes, watch movies, clean, pack, sew, laundry... But what do I do? Do I do something fun and worry that I should be doing something responsible? Or do I do something responsible and worry that I'm wasting my free time when I should be having fun?

This shouldn't be hard!!! :P
