I feel like I could bond with some of my high school friends better after yesterday.

[livejournal.com profile] londo had some online things he had to take care of for a while that involved ignoring me, so he set me up on his Playstation (PSX? PS1? I don't know, but an old one.) with a copy of Chrono Trigger (if anyone knows of a site for video games that is similar to what IMDB is for movies, let me know, and I'll put a link up for CT. Although the site will probably be blocked from work.). I began playing. For a while it was frustrating as I got through the initial I-don't-know-what-the-hell-I'm-doing that happens with any video game, but he was nearby to give me pointers and whatnot. When the PS crapped out we switched me to an emulator on his computer (he was using my laptop) where I then zoomed through things. I am amused by the amount of music I recognize because of OverClocked Remix (first introduced to me by Jason/[livejournal.com profile] altair, turns out that many of the men I hang out with like remixed video game music). Anyway, I got to the point of.. um... escaping from the dungeon. Then it was time to leave to borrow [livejournal.com profile] anitra's car to return the tuxedos (she and [livejournal.com profile] nightskyre were busy with gifts).

But that's not all!! After returning the tuxes and picking up some thai food, [livejournal.com profile] londo and I returned to the newlyweds' pad and, after watching a video of the ceremony (more about that in a different post), sat down on the LoveSac (an 8-foot-diameter bean bag) and popped in Halo. We played co-op for hours... [livejournal.com profile] londo is old hat at it and spent most of the time practicing his l33t sniper skillz, while I just attempted to familiarize myself with the controls. After a bit I actually started killing aliens!! YAY!!! Now I am kind of obsessed with it.

In fact, I have the (newly) Smiths' car borrowed for the week while they are on their honeymoon cruise (this being because I woke up at 4:30am to drive them to Logan this morning, and will sacrifice an hour or so of work on Friday to pick them up), and I just might drive back to Worcester tonight to play some more Halo. That is if we can get into their apartment, that is. (Which can be accomplished without crime, yes.)

Oh, I did mention the 51" high-definition television there, right? (Something like this, although that's not exactly right because I don't know the brand.) Halo is awesome on it. I imagine most anything would be.

Okay, done ranting.

Ah yes, the video of the ceremony.

First off - the problem with the huge 51" TV is that the height/width ratio is off, therefore things shown on it get stretched horizontally. This lent itself to everyone who saw themselves on the screen complaining that they look fat. Seriously, my ass took up the entire field of vision at one point. ;)

It was truly a beautiful ceremony.

Great comical moment - the bride and groom have descended from the, uh, stage and have walked down the aisle and towards the door. [livejournal.com profile] londo, the best man, at this point realizes that he does not know when he is supposed to also exit. The camera is focused on the stage, not the couple. [livejournal.com profile] londo looks across the stage, catches eyes with Lori the maid of honor, and does the little "shall we go?" head jerk with questioning eyes. You know, the one that should be used in a bar instead. ;) She imperceptably nods, and they walk towards each other and down the steps, etc etc.

It might not sound funny in description, but that little head movement and the accompanying facial expression come after the most solemn of moments, watching the new couple walk off... so it just breaks tension in a wonderful way.

Came to work this morning to a big bag of assorted candy on the desk. Found a dish for it and set it out for the masses... theoretically. I don't want to estimate the number of "fun size" chocolate bars I've had to eat this morning. :P

Things to do:
vote
return movies to Blockbuster
grocery shop
cat stuff shop
sew/knit
look at Christmas travel information

...maybe I shouldn't go to Worcester tonight. :-/

The check for his half of utilities has as its memo, "Discount crack rocks."

Well, it is only $40.

USAA, my main bank, with whom I have a checking AND credit card account, just upped the limit of the latter by $1000.

Just in time for Christmas.

FUCK! Temptation BAD! Even though I need to buy plane tickets before they get too expensive... :P

Also: 40 lbs of cat litter is heavy.
