the morning after
2 July 2004 08:12The red line must be a lot faster than the orange. It is at least fast enough to make up for the longer bike ride in the morning. I suppose it's a good thing that my commute involves more work on my part, now. A longer bike ride and more stairs... Or perhaps it just felt like more work because I didn't get enough sleep? I was really slogging up some of those stairs.
I'd say that my first night in the apartment was uneventful, except that I was awakened at 4am by a thunderstorm and had to go around closing all the windows to keep the rain out. Bleh. Oh, and since I'm stupid and didn't plan to have a shower curtain, I have a bedsheet slung over the shower rod and safety-pinned into place. Hey, it keeps the water from escaping!
I still haven't received any mail. This is making me grumpy. I want paycheck!

geek questions
2 July 2004 08:50Will someone please explain to me, with examples hopefully, what cel(l?) shading is?
Also: My only problem so far with gmail is that it automatically groups all LJ comment notifications with the same subject (i.e., "Reply to your post") into one conversation. I'm not used to this and I'm constantly afraid I'm deleting mails without reading and responding to them. Does anyone have a suggestion for another way to do it?

My boss here just gave me two very nice, very nifty silver spacey-looking pens with purple ink! How cool is that.
Aha. Pictures of said pens here.
Yay, purple.
