So, right. I finished Timeline on Friday afternoon, and I was sorely disappointed. It wasn't very good at all. My biggest beef is with the characters. Some were simply placeholders - bodies with names that did things, but had absolutely no personality. This would be less of a problem if these characters weren't talked about as totally awesome by the other characters. Other characters were completely erratic, randomly doing things without reason; things that went against the type of personality that Crichton had been trying to portray (not very delicately, either). And most of the main characters were shallow, cliche characters, whose entire personality were based around single central ideas with no nuances or shading. Sigh.

So yeah, I don't really recommend it. I think it had a lot of promise - the basics of the story are some of my largest interests! - but it completely failed to deliver.

I'm still going to see the movie sometime if I get the chance. But I won't expect much from it.

Of course, after I move to the great northeast and get into heaps of debt, they hold an OMP in the midwest.

I really want to go.

July 24th. St. Louis, MO.

Whine.

Tonight I went to Academia Della Danza, the dance practice for "people who care about dancing". I learned how to dance Buffins, a 15th century French sword dance. It involves a lot of hopping and is very aerobic. I had a good time. Oh, and I felt the glow of another group of people who consider themselves dance nerds being in awe of how quickly I learn choreography. I learned in an hour what it took one of them a month to learn. Go me!

I also saw the third floor apartment at Jen and Matt's house, where I want to move. It is a decent apartment. No real living room, but two large bedrooms and one 'study' - I'm thinking one might even choose to make the study a bedroom and use one of the bedrooms for a living room. The walls are painted nice colors. It is cheaper than this apartment. It is a reasonable distance from the green and red lines (Lechmere and Davis). I am all about it.

I have a check for over $400 sitting a few feet from me and going in the mail tomorrow Such is a good thing to have.

Now, I am going to eat dinner and watch Babylon 5, Season 4, Episode 5: The Long Night. And then I will SLEEP.

Scratch on the B5 - am attempting to do other things and people are bugging me on AIM, so if I start the episode now I won't be done until too late. Need to get to bed.
