I'm taking the day off, mostly.

I came home at 12:45 last night, and got into bed at 1. Woke up at 1:30 because Pixel was scratching at the bed, and as I became more and more coherent, I realized that Pixel does that scratching thing on the floor near the litterbox. Then I became more coherent and realized my legs were damp. =P She peed on the blanket that was on me. *sigh*

So my nice clean blankets were no longer nice and clean, and I had to sleep on the sleeping bag again last night and lock the kitties out of my room.

I did find her after I had taken the sheets off and pick her up and put her nose in it and spank her a few times while saying mean-sounding "No!"s. However, she was damp... as if she had actually wet herself. I'm starting to worry that she just can't make it to the litterbox and that's why she's doing this - certainly my bed is a place she often lies anyway.

So we have a vet appointment at 2 today. Hopefully she doesn't have an infection or worms or anything.

Right now I'm going to shower, and then goldbug and I will have Pad Thai and then it's vet time. Then I will go to work for a little bit, just because Wednesdays are the busiest days, and I don't want to make Caleb hate me for not coming in at ALL today and leaving him tons of messages for the morning.

So that's what's up. And hopefully I will feel happy enough tonight to do my homework.

I don't plan on going to the lab tonight at all. No games.

Oh! First Gæa Spore show of the new grouping this Friday at the Hotel living room. I'm thinking of it as a rather informal, "test" show, but I don't know what the others think.

I made it to work at 5, and miraculously there were only 6 messages to return. How dull for a Wednesday!

The vet charged me $30 to tell me that Pixel was in really wonderful condition (7 pounds 4.5 ounces, well-hydrated, clean ears and eyes, etc) but that her bladder was empty so we couldn't take a urine sample for testing. She told me that I should try cleaning the litterbox daily - maybe even getting a separate box for Matrix for a little while - and maybe even closing up Pixel in the bathroom with just the litterbox and food until she starts using it again. However, if she continues to have this problem after a little while, or if I see any of the signs of a bladder infection (which I won't list here because they're gross or sad!!!), I should bring her back for a urinalysis.

Pixel is very vocal about car rides.

Goldbug went with me on my trip today. Before the vet we hit Pad Thai, where Nui's-brother-the-cook-owner decided that he would make special flat noodle pad thai for me, and it was SUPER delicious. It had sauce that regular pad thai doesn't usually, and a lime to squirt over it that made it HEAVENLY. Everyone needs to try it.

Then we went to the vet.

Then we stopped by Gypsy's Things Medieval, which isn't actually closing down this weekend, but I'll post that in a new note because that's of importance to people who might not read all the way through this post. I tried on some shiny silver pants, but they didn't fit. :( I might go back before the end of the week and get some neat cheap new navel jewelry (even though they're not shutting down, they were going to and so they are still selling their old stock for cheap until their new stock comes in on Monday).

Then we went to Walmart, and I bought some flannel sheets and toilet paper and hair stuff.

Then I came to work.

Exciting, eh? It's been a nice day. Tonight I will read German and hopefully write a German paper too. And maybe Nads my legs... it's been a while, and goldbug is good inspiration...

Today goldbug and I stopped by Gypsy's Things Medieval, which was supposed to shut down this weekend, and the window said, "Staying Open!" So we inquired about it while we were inside, about why the Community Cup wasn't opening.

Apparently Gypsy (and it might be Gypsey...) is very much a part of the Community Cup, and the Amy Behar who is opening the Cup was there as well, so we got some face time in and found out the deal.

Apparently the licensing is taking a lot longer to get than they thought... something about being a live music venue. Also, they were discussing how the city of Norman just does not give out bar licenses anymore - you have to have no more than 51% (?) of your sales be liquor, and if it goes over just one percent, you'll be shut down (a la Medicine Hall). Anyway, they will definitely be open after the New Year.

Amy and I talked a little, and she gave me a slip of paper with different ways to contact her. So Gæa Spore can definitely get a gig there... maybe we can even maneouver to get opening week! :)

So, that's the deal. No Cup for a little while. Cheap stuff at Gypsy's until Monday. $14 navel jewelry...

A few webcomic writers are coming together to write a short miniseries called Indie Rock Pete. It follows the adventures of Pete as he attempts to keep as Indie Rock as possible. I thought there were a few who read this journal who might find that amusing ;)

Can the ASPCA go after the CIA?

Well, I guess it's a bit ex post facto. But damn.
