Check out this site that Jason found, Netflix. Looks like the real deal. You pay $20 a month, and you can rent as many DVDs from them as you like, for as long as you like... only catch is, can't have more than three in your possession at any time. They mail 'em to you, and include a postage-paid envelope for you to mail 'em back when you're done.

Sounds like something the Happiness Hotel should be all up in. Split it between a few of you, $5 a month each for unlimited DVD rentals?

I'd do it if I had more free time to watch DVDs and have it be worth $20/mo.

goldbug's journal made reference last night to the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction contest, so I thought I'd share the link to their page with you so you all can go enjoy the horridness. Check out the lyttony of winners for some horrible writing. :) If you don't know, the Bulwer-Lytton contest is "a whimsical literary competition that challenges entrants to compose the opening sentence to the worst of all possible novels" (direct quote from their site).

OOOOH!
teddyville.org is UP AND RUNNING! Woo ha! That means you can go to teddyville.org/~juldea and see pictures of my cats now! (although it changes the url to say the ip still, hrm...)

Nice. Some lady sent a letter in to Frank Wang, the ex-CEO of the company (but still President of), saying how awesome I am on the helpline. He sent me a copy of it. Good to know the higher-ups are kept informed. ;)

I now have $33 in my bank account. Kinda weird that I had $900 a few days ago. Ahh, bills...

My rear end is wet because of my bike seat. :( Maybe getting a new one should be of higher priority... Maybe I should prioritize my wishlist? Oh, and to explain, the vinyl on the outside of the seat is cracked so the foam inside gets all wet when it rains and when I sit on the seat, it's like sitting on a sponge. Bleh!

Cynthia inspired me to a great idea... I need to start bringing my fuzzy slippers to work and changing into them. They're warm and comfy and so much better for sitting in a cold office. If I have to wear shoes, I should wear good ones!

I want to keep talking, but I'm not sure what I should/could talk about.

I missed another discrete math class today. On Thursday is the review session, and next Tuesday the exam. Today's lecture isn't on the exam though.... that doesn't make it good that I skipped class. *sigh* Hopefully Brendan doesn't have to stay up with the server until 2am anymore (although I certainly like the company.... more people should come to my house between 10 and 12!)

I think the thai place on Lindsey/Jenkins is almost open. The "coming soon" part of their sign is down, but I rode past it on my bike today and although the door was open, it wasn't ready for business yet. I think many of us should visit it on the weekend after it opens.

While driving into the Saxon parking lot today, I saw a red SUV that had shoe-polish writing on the back window saying, "To Bin Ladin: See you real soon! Love, George". Now... wtf? I don't get it at all. I mean, I get the message, but why would someone write that on their car? It's so foreign to me.

I started this post half an hour ago... I think that's enough for now. Post more later.

Btw... I'm glad Chase enjoys the rain, because it just depresses me. =P

The temperature is JUST right, though. Just right for sweatshirts. ;)

It's a weird feeling. I've been depressed before, and I'm not depressed now. Not like I used to be. I certainly feel like I'm not overworked in class, or underpaid at work... I'm not overwhelmed by life. I just have this inability to do all the things I really want to do... In the morning, when the alarm is going off, my brain isn't in full functioning capacity yet, and sleep always wins out over, "But later I'll really be upset if I don't..." Like this morning. I certianly had plans to wake up, exercise, go mail Butthole his Zelda gameboy cartridge (sigh), maybe even go buy the books I need for independent study... but no, I slept instead. Slept right through discrete math, yet again. Got an email this afternoon from the professor asking if I intend to drop the course... I've missed 3 classes in a row... have an exam in it next Tuesday. I really will definitely make it to class on Thursday, because now the professor knows and for some reason, the thought of someone else berating me for that kind of thing smacks my ass into shape. *sigh*

Which reminds me, I have a lot of homework type stuff to do tonight. I'll get to it.

I got 1 1/3 problems correct on the latest E&M homework assignment.

There were 8 problems, and I only left one blank.
