It's become more and more of a problem, and viewing pictures earlier just made it rear its ugly head.
I hate how I look with glasses on.
I've worn mainly contacts for probably 10 years now. Glasses have always been around, but only for emergencies or convenience. But now, I made the decision not to budget contacts and have been wearing only glasses for a few weeks.
I used to be able to look in a mirror and actually think "wow I look good today". Not all the time, but I don't think you can expect that from someone all the time. But I think it's a healthy good thing to like the way you look as it is.
I haven't had one of those experiences yet since getting glasses. I don't like the way they look. I think they distort my face. I think they look bad with my hair. They give me red marks on my nose and hide my eyes.
Plus, they feel awful. They hurt behind my ears if I want to wear them with a headband or a hat, and they make my nose sore (red marks again), and they are constantly sliding down my face and needing attention.
I just want them to go away. I want to be back to looking and feeling good again. I want to look pretty and sophisticated and not juvenile and dumpy. I want to accentuate my best feature, not hide it.
I think it's a very sad thing when the reason you can't look as pretty as you'd like to is because you can't afford it.
