It's very hard to stay upset when someone you like a whole lot is promising a barrage of hugs and kisses in just a few weeks.

I need to make one of those lists with categories of "1 month until the move", "2 weeks until the move", "1 week until the move", etc. So far I have:

2 weeks 'til: give Papa John's my notice
1 week 'til: get car checkup and overhaul

other things that don't have specific times:
call all people I want to stop with, get directions, plan total route
pack up summer clothes, books & movies
buy cat food/litter for the summer
hang out with family
talk to dr. mason about summer stuff I can do for money
enroll for summer school
forward my mail

I welcome all suggestions and ideas from those who have done this type of thing before.

don't forget to throw a party :) last time i did, i made a bunch of raffle tickets and handed them out to everybody, then raffled off a bunch of my stuff that i couldn't take with me on the trip.

1 week 'til:
do all my laundry
take down posters/knick-knacks which will go with me and pack somehow
clean trunk of car

this simplifies things:

put it all off till four hours before you leave. pack: 3 pairs of underwear, a pair of shorts, and maybe a shirt. toothbrush is optional. drive away with your cats yowling and stuck to the back of your bucket seat, and don't worry about it. :) you can borrow someone else's clothes when you get there.

pfft I'm only leaving for the summer. I don't plan on getting rid of anything, just leaving some stuff that I don't need (winter clothes, etc) behind under my bed. :)

But yeah, a party is happening the night before. :)

Hehehe. Leaving behind most of my clothes is rather a bad thing for a shop-o-holic to do. I'll just crash a goodwill when I get there, and blow a lot of money... rather than taking along stuff I already have and having Jason and Adriana there to tell me not to spend any money :)
