Tonight I made another skirt :) No pictures yet because it's not quite done. It is a circle skirt, full, meant as an underskirt for bellydance costumes. Made of black satin that I found for $1/yd in the Halloween Sale at Joann's! Anyway, the skirt is cut on the bias, so that means I have to let the fabric stretch before cutting the bottom hem. If I don't, it'll slowly stretch out to differing lengths over time, and I'll have a skirt that's shorter on some sides than the others, but only by a few inches. And that looks tacky. So I wet it down (make it heavy, to stretch) and hung it up. When it's dry in the morning I'll cut the bottom hem evenly, hem it up, and take pictures for you :)

I did already try it on, to check the waistline size. Then I got silly and pulled out one of my dance belts to put on over it. The dance belt (black iris, for those in the know) didn't fit around my hips. That made me sad. But someday...

I am a couple of hems, a purse, and a resume away from applying for jobs. The first will be done tomorrow, I'm not sure when for the second, and the third is awaiting a particular person's help. This is scary, to be so close to the real world.
